You have to give one star to post……When booking a table for 6 in September for Christmas Eve we were given the choice of main menu or Christmas menu, we selected main menu to give us more options, however on arrival, after a 15 minute wait for our table, we were told only Christmas set menu at inflated prices was available. We all wanted steak but only ribeye was on menu. It was 6pm and we were told there were no steaks! Our soup arrived hot on top but cold underneath. Sent back. Our main courses arrived half way through our starters. Sent back. Four of us ordered the roast beef, it was disgusting. Lukewarm limp, soggy vegetables, inedible potatoes, overcooked beef, lukewarm gravy. The whole meal had been cooked hours ago. We sent it back asking for it to be reheated at least. Better to have hot revolting food than cold revolting food?We decided against pudding as the food was a disgrace but we were charged for them as set priced menu. Christmas Eve and not even crackers on tables. No log fire lit. No Christmas ambience at all. During the meal a singer turned up, placed right next to us so we couldn’t hear ourselves across the table. Drinks are overpriced too. Bill £285. Are you having a laugh? I was embarrassed as we had guests in our group, one who had never eaten there before. The few staff were rushed off their feet and did their best to cope. After complaining we were given some discount but still extortionate price for the worst meal I’ve ever had there. Other people there for a meal were also complaining. Deputy manageress didn’t seem bothered. 2024 resolution never to eat there again.

We try many places for Sunday lunch, and this was the most expensive one in a while. It was also by far the worst. Honestly, I don't like leaving negative reviews, but this was particularly disappointing. Had I been asked about the meal when we paid the bill, I would have said plenty; as it was, they didn't seem interested, I suppose. The food was served mainly cold. I had the plate sent back to be warmed up, a full roast with cold vegetables though, how does that leave a kitchen? I was offered a fresh plate, for some reason, but I just asked for the food to be warmed. I also told the waitress that the roast potatoes were 'almost cooked'; they were chewy, small bullets with a greasy texture, and were about 80% cooked. Horrible. The beef was suitable for soling a stout shoe, nothing more. The turkey was dry beyond dry, and the tiny triangle of belly pork, though OK to eat, was laughably small. The tiny jug of runny gravy was surprisingly nice, but I needed to ask for more, which was fine. £22.95 for this food is outrageous. The place wasn't busy, and I think I know why.

These were my starters as you can see no presentation ,the calamari was just chucked on the plate and the koftas were dry and burnt. They were sent straight back. When we went to order off the menu, the first two attempts we were told they had ran out,We should be told what’s not available on the menu firstly. The waitress had an attitude problem and only cleared our table after food and our drinks glasses were piled high by the end of the evening. We were seated next to to disabled toilets and they smelt disgusting and was dirty.I never put up bad reviews about places and never usually moan as I work in the restaurant industry myself, but this place has really gone down the hill and it’s such a shame to see.

Nothing was great!

When we got there our table wasn't ready we waited for half an hour at the bar to get served even though we were the only customers at the bar. Once we got our drinks the table was available but the service was shocking. It was clear that there was not enough staff and the staff that was working didn't deliver a great service at all.

We had to ask for everything from our order to be taken after waiting ages to more drinks extra cutlery, napkins you name it.

There were 4 adults and 3 kids in our party. We were not in a rush but no one checked on us we had to ask for service and every time we asked politely for more drinks, more gravy the bill and even when we asked it took so long that we had to ask again and again.

There was a very strange taste to the roast potatoes and the vegetables over all was poor the food wasn't presented very well it looked to be thrown onto the plate the kids peas were all shriveled up and inedible! With the dessert the sticky toffee pudding was nice and hot and the custard freezing cold, again the wait was horrendous hence the fact we didn't send it back. There were no cream to make liquor coffees and the coffee we did get wasn't very good.

We have been to this pub for food on several occasions we use it as a place to celebrate big things like Mother's day, birthdays and just taking friends there and never have we been so disappointed as on our visit Sunday just gone.

To add insult to it all they added the service charge onto the bill! I asked for it to be removed because who wants to pay for a service they didn't receive? Surely it was enough that we paid full price for inadequate food!

I would like to give no stars but the lowest you can...

An absolute disappointment for our family on Christmas eve if I could give zero stars i would..... In October we booked a family meal online for the all day menu for 5.45pm on Christmas eve we had 4 young teenagers with us so the option of burgers would be ideal and all of the adults fancied a pub meal rather than a big roast which we would be having on Christmas day. We also booked this as a break from tradition as our niece is travelling and wouldn't be with us this Christmas and thought it would be a nice distraction for my sister in law as this time of the year is a big thing for our family and we knew my niece would be missed. We arrived at the pub and naturally it was busy with what appeared to be very minimal staff but that aside. We were sat and given the Christmas eve menu which wasn't what we booked, 2 courses for £29.99 etc and when we asked the staff for the all day menu they said it wasn't available on Christmas eve evening. We explained what we had booked and that our children wouldn't eat anything off the given menu, the waitress spoke to the manager who said they would refund our deposits....that was it no other option no apologies....an absolute disgrace ! At 6pm on Christmas eve we couldn't go anywhere else we tried but everywhere was fully booked. The nice family meal we had hoped for and looked forward to ended up being a drive through at KFC !!! We were so disappointed and feel that the start of our Christmas festivities was ruined we felt so...
