I've been here a few times and both times they have let me down let's start with the positives staff were very helpful and friendly and always around when needed the place was clean tidy and looked good. Now to the negatives several of us had the double beef burger I was absolutely gob smacked when it came out it was the cheapest thinest burger you have every seen ( you find better quality in a weatherspoons) no sauce ( no offer of sauce) no cheese a bit of lettuce small bit of onion and a piece of tomato now for £12 that was a joke and I happened to mention to a member of staff who couldn't apologize enough and took them of the bill now a member of the family group had fish and chips he had what looked like a child's meal so he said is this right? And they did something that will tickle me for years to come they turn the fish over and gave it him back so he complained again this time they gave him the same piece and added a another small piece of fish. Now my personal opinion of the millpond is simple it is outstandingly overpriced for the area and quality of food of they powered the priced to the food quality it would be good I feel they would struggle any were near a few more decent pubs.

Went with family to celebrate a birthday and had pre booked the lily pods at the millpond pub for our first afternoon tea. The first impression was wow inside the pod was spacious with benches either side tables set up lovely had Christmas decorations hanging on the ceiling also had coat hooks either side of inside by the doors as you walked also provided blankets and there was a heater and background music it really felt very welcoming cosy comfortable and private and just being able to talk in your group of people . The manager made you feel really welcome and made sure you had everything you needed .the food itself was amazing there was 5 of us and there was a single one and 2 double one with different varieties of sandwiches and pork pies scotch eggs and sausages rolls and light cakes and biscuits and massive pot of tea and coffee ☕ serving staff were fantastic on hand if you required anything nothing was to much trouble no long waiting food and drinks. Very impressed will definitely be coming back for other lily pods on offer. Overall 10/10 I would recommend anyone to try here your be surprised like we were.

We love The Millpool! Reservations is Definitely a must (at least on weekends) as they are booked solid. Food is very good, service is fast and friendly. There are 3 different areas to dine in not including the private party area which is another large room. We celebrated a "quiet" birthday with starters, burgers, and wine! They brought out a piece of Ultimate Chocolate cake with a lit candle which was a delight! I highly recommend The Millpool!

We went to this pub one week and tried the "Pies", not exactly pies more china pots with meat and a puff pasty hat but it tasted nice. We mentioned that it was not exactly a pie and there were not many chips but said we enjoyed it. 2 weeks later we returned to try something else off the menu. My friend ordered fish that was mostly batter and with a grand total of 12 rock hard inedible chips. I order Gammon steak, no pea,or mushrooms or pineapple. Though I did not get any of those it seems I was not given tomato even when it was not requested to be remove. Also had 10 rock hard chips that I demonstrated to the waitress be hitting it on the plate at how hard it was. very fatty gammon which was bland. Manger came over and after explaining we were not happy with it he kept defending say there are at least 8 oz of fish, and repeating it in an aggressive tone and saying "Well, personally if I go somewhere one week and don't like the food I don't go back. " Defending that we liked the so called "pie" but we wanted to see what something else on the menu was like he continued to give us attitude and very rude service. Were given a refund but see what it is never busy. Rude service, poor miss labelled food and a chef that thinks everything, even chips, needs a sprinkle of what looked like chive garnish. No where on menu does it say everything comes with a sprinkling of green. Never returning, would advise against anyone...

Came for Sunday dinner today. As it was hot we were able to sit outside instead of our booked table. When ordering I asked if everything was available on the Sunday roast and was told it was so ordered the turkey roast and steak and Stilton pie.

About half an hour/45 mins later I was told there was no turkey! I said I would have the beef but was not happy as I said initailly, I would have had the pie too if the full roast wasn't available. It obviously wasn't the young servers fault so we said we'd like something to make up for it like a portion of the pork scratchings. About 15 minutes later the meal came out and the same server was embarrassed to say that there was no cauliflower cheese either now too! I was really frustrated as I had ordered a meal and now 2 main elements were missing. We said we'd like some extra Yorkshires and stuffung. This did come out. However, nobody came to check if everything was OK, and we were really hungry by then so just ate it. As we had almost finished our meal a portion of the hardest pork crackling known to mind kind was delivered. I'm not entirely sure what it was made from but I think i think it was 75% concrete. My dentist will confirm tomorrow after he glued my back teeth in. Shame as its a great pub with lovely staff but the food was a...

The refurbishment has really improved a previously run down and scruffy pub. Staff very friendly. Food was basic but we'll cooked. The main problem for me is the food is way over priced, they are charging restaurant prices for pretty average bar food...my meal cost £12.95 and was a piece of baked salmon, some steamed potatoes and wilted spinach! Placing the food artistically on a plate (not my meal but my wife's hanging kabab looked great) is not a reason for the meals to be 50% too expensive.

My food had no seasoning on so was quite bland. They were relying on my meal being covered in cheese sauce, which I didn't want. It was we'll cooked and hot, and if this has cost £8 or £9 I would have been happy with it, but not at £13.

The pub is split into 2 areas, entering at the front is the bar, which was very noisy and had TV's blasting out a football match. Just behind that is another bar, which is their eating area, which is quieter and where we sat. Lots of outdoor seating too. Car park is too small if the pub is busy so you could end up trying to park in the surrounding streets.

I don't think we will go back in a hurry. There are better places to eat in Coventry at these...
