First impression of restaurant is good from there it went DOWNHILL like a helterskelter. Rude waiter who was actually more agressive than just plain rude. Told us as we were going to the theatre we could only have one course as there wouldn't be enough time, this puzzled us but as we only wanted a main course this was ok, but this should have rung alarm bells as it was only 17.50 and theatre starts at 19.30. We started the order with a pizza and were told in a sharp manner with the waiters finger tapping on menu several times that they don't do pizza on theatre nights. "It's the restaurant rules" we were told sharply " it says on the menu". We ordered , got our drinks quickly enough but then the wait started! We waited till 18.35 then asked a waiter if our food was coming, he said, ask the other waiter, rude reply of " yes when it's ready can from the other waiter! 5 mins later our pasta dishes arrived. One portion half that of the others!! We ate our hot food while our friend waited for her salad we finished our food and asked where on earth is the salad, he said it was coming and would take a while did we want to " scrub it" she said no she was hungry, it came in two minutes which was pretty amazing as it was tomato slices and mozzarella with basil, we had to wait 50 mins for this. While we were there we heard several other tables complaining about the wait and one table left without getting their food. A disgraceful performance from a half full establishment. Seven people that won't be going back again and who will be warning friends and family to avoid. (probably Plus the two that walked out!). The food we gave 7/10. Why can't we...
Read moreAfter working for 35 years in the tourism and hospitality industry, common sense suggests writing only positive reviews to reward those who offer genuine hospitality and quality. However, I cannot avoid writing a very negative review this time, about a place that showed neither the ability nor the will to provide proper service or hospitality—whether in the dining area or in the kitchen.
The pizza bore no resemblance to any kind of pizza, not even the worst frozen ones, and certainly not to anything remotely Italian. The dough was awful, the toppings scarce and poor in quality, and the cooking seemed entirely improvised. The service was equally disappointing: cutlets served on parchment paper, as if to drain the oil—although unfortunately, in this case, there was no trace of quality Italian oil.
As for the service, after insisting over and over for a reserved table for five (initially given a tiny table for two with camping chairs squeezed together as if humans didn’t have legs), we finally had to settle for an indoor table with poor ventilation. Frankly, we should have left then and there.
Ridiculous prices. Definitely not...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant on a Sunday lunchtime and it wasn't very busy. It's a beautiful restaurant. The waitress was very nice and polite and she managed the floor well, a few irks.... The service was slightly slow, considering there wasn't that many customers being abit more attentive would of been a bonus. I asked for my food to be extra spicy as the menu said it was "two chillies" spicy.... Sadly it was not spicy at all. Value for money, not really. The Gamberoni Piccanti cost £11.95 and was not up to par... The flavours wasn't hitting it and although meant to be spicy. Not at all. Honestly for a pasta main costing around £17.... It honestly isn't worth it. I expect full flavours for pricey meals. I would of asked for some chilli sauce or something had we been checked by the waitress about our meal. But she didn't come to see how our meal was and she was mainly in the back so wasn't easy to get her attention. She was very polite when addressing us about dessert. Honestly the restaurant could be 5* if the flavours...
