Came in a few weeks ago for a couple of drinks and some food. Me and my partner made our way to the garden where three of the four tables we sat on wobbled so much my drink nearly feel off the table. We decided to go inside to order some food but struggled to find a table. The pub wasn’t busy at all but all the tables where full of empty glasses and dirty plates so we was forced to sit on a table we didn’t want to sit on as it was next to a very loud family. After sitting down we ordered drinks to our table and then watched them sit on the bar for 15 minutes while the staff delivered drinks that were made after ours. The table behind us that were very loud started to throw small bits of paper at the back of my head so I told them to stop but they just laughed. I informed the staff and they responded with “you could move tables” I said “they are all dirty” which was replied with a shrug. When our food was delivered it was very oily and not worth the price at all. We ordered two chicken curries. The garlic nana wasn’t cooked well enough and the garlic sauce on it was stone cold and not melted. There was empty drug packets in the toilet and toilet roll all over the floor. I haven’t been to this pub in a few years and to be honest was surprised that it has gone more down hill. It’s a cheep drink but maybe that why the quality is so rubbish. Staff didn’t seem to know what they was doing and was wondering round the restaurant walking past dirty tables. Very disappointing and filthy pub. One of the staff continuously tied his shoes with out washing his hands afterwords but failed to spend this much attention to his...
Read moreWhat a lovely building for our 65th Wetherspoon. Loved the wide door entrance and the glass light fittings. Definitely 5 star. However a 1 or no star for service. I had a woman who didn't give a particularly friendly greeting and appeared to have no idea of the menu. Asked for 2 chicken bite meals, but she entered boneless basket meals on the till, which I noticed and told her that's not what I'd asked for, she started to argue with me so I got a menu to show how what I wanted, then she proceeded to enter 2 chicken bites and then 2 portions of chips as seperate items, which was still wrong and would have been more expensive and didn't include a drink. I pointed this out and then she decided I was making out she was stupid. At no point was this the case, I just wanted to ensure she was entering it on the till correctly, which she wasn't, I asked for someone else to serve me. The next person was so frosty, did not bother to enquire what the issue had been, obviously decided to take whatever the other person had told her as gospel, but did manage to get the order right. Not every customer is rude or wrong and not all bar staff are perfect. When the meals arrived we were less than happy to discover the 10 chicken bites as advertised on the menu were in fact both 8. Was this a mistake or what? I'll let you decide. We did eventually get the extra 4. We've visited Wetherspoons all over, but without a shadow of a doubt this service was the worst ever. Shame, as not only were the surroundings lovely but unusually for a Wetherspoons the disabled...
Read moreI had a disappointing experience at this Wetherspoon. The shift manager started arguing with customers who complained about the real ale, which all tasted off. Hobgoblin Gold, Jaipur, and Wimbledon Quarter Mine were all unpleasant. When a group of drinkers returned their beer, the manager insisted there was nothing wrong with it, saying, “I know my beer.” When I asked if she had tried it, she replied, “No, I’m pregnant,” which meant she hadn’t even tasted it before serving it.
This place is supposed to be a Cask Mark pub, which means they should replace the beer if there are any quality issues. Unfortunately, the shift manager ignored this policy and continued to argue with customers who said the beer tasted sour. Honestly, the beer quality here is the worst I've ever experienced at a Wetherspoon.
The cellar team definitely needs some serious improvements. The shift manager should have tried to calm things down, but instead, she escalated the situation and was quite rude. Overall, it was a...
