Visited Tideswell for a weeks break in the beautiful Derbyshire Dales. Was recommended that we try Sal's Italion restaurant. Well we did this evening and I must say it was exceptional...food was superb and beautifully presented. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Just simply stunning...a must if you stay in Tideswell. Book in advance as its reputation is well earned. We have again for Friday... Well done all at Sal's...10/10😁👍 Just visited Sal's again this evening (Friday) and had what can only be described as more exceptional food.....simply gorgeous! Full of flavour, freshly cooked just superb!! Its a must if you visit Tideswell or the local area...you won't be disappointed! Well done ALL at Sal's....top job!😋❤

I was truly delighted with my experience at this restaurant. The cuisine was exceptional – the steak I enjoyed was cooked to perfection and accompanied by a remarkable sauce that elevated the dish. As a starter, I had shrimp that were wonderfully prepared, fresh, and bursting with flavor. The service was both warm and professional, and the dishes were served promptly. A particularly memorable touch was the chef personally coming out to greet us, which added a sense of hospitality and charm to the evening. The atmosphere was refined yet welcoming, the food outstanding, and overall, I left thoroughly impressed. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an excellent dining experience.

An "Italian" place that serves prawn tempura, should have been a hint. The atmosphere and service was fine, but... The calzone was the most tasteless and overpriced pizza I've ever had. No oregano, no Mozzarella flavour to stand out. Could hardly make out tomato puree sourness from the other ingredients. The dough was more of a Cornish pasty than pizza too. For £16 it's a complete ripoff. The pizza ingredients list in the menu should have also been a clue that this will be a very non Italian tasting establishment. No olives, no caperi, no artichokes, no rocket, all things that tend to go with good Italian pizzas.

A pleasant small restaurant in the village centre providing the usual range of Italian food. Be aware the toilet is outside the main building should this be an issue. There is no alcohol licence so it’s soft drinks or bring your own bottle which most diners did. The staff were very attentive and friendly which was appreciated. The food was a bit hit and miss. The fungi chef dish of button mushrooms, cream and cheese was a letdown. Essentially a bowl of watery cream with what tasted like tinned button mushrooms and the cheese was a congealed goo at the bottom of the bowl. The garlic bread was fine but a bit pricey at £7. The seafood platter was a great improvement and was tasty enough though again pricey for a relatively small plateful of seafood and no vegetables other than small potato portion. The penne chicken dish was fine though a little bland. Overall, a nice addition and alternative to the village pub fayre and I’m sure other dishes are excellent as customers appeared very satisfied. However, £60 for x2 starters and x2 mains with no drinks other than water was a bit...

Friday night at Sal’s, what can I say. How is this rated 4.6 stars so far on here! Started off with a rude greeting ‘we don’t sell wine or beer’ before we had even sat down. We were also sat by the kitchen which was unbearably hot. Ordered a drink with the manager that never arrived so had to ask for it again from another member of staff. Throughout service was rude from the manager/ presumed owner and he was constantly publicly rude and condescending to his staff. We were also served by Jake who was friendly and polite. Food - starters tasted good and were well presented. Mains were less appealing - margarita pizza was tiny and looked and tasted like a cheap pizza from Asda with a couple of fresh cherry tomatoes put on top. Pasta Al forno was fine but chicken was chewy and arguably did not need to be in the dish. Overall - starters good, mains poor and the service from the manager was appalling at best. A shame as not many options...

Came here while on holiday from the states with my boyfriend from the UK, the food was incredible and the service was impeccable. We had flat whites and the espresso was brewed to perfection. Ordered the cheesy garlic bread as a starter which was the perfect size for sharing between the two of us and was very well balanced between the garlic and cheese with the pizza base being the perfect balance between crispy and soft. I had the spinach/ricotta ravioli which was the perfect size, deliciously rich and excellently prepared. My boyfriend had the spaghetti Alfredo and his was also amazingly delicious. It was rich and creamy and had a flavor that had a deep and full flavor that really impressed. The servers were also attentive without hovering, had a lovely sense of humor, and made sure everything was going well while managing multiple other tables and guests. All-in-all, a lovely experience that I can't wait to...
