Rockingham Lodge — Hotel in Derbyshire Dales

We just spent two nights at Rockingham Lodge and can't rate it highly enough. Gill is a fantastic hostess, and the accommodation far exceeded our expectations. I can honestly say I have never slept so well as I did in the King Size bed in room 3 - proper feather pillows and duvet. The ensuite bathroom was spacious and modern with a very good shower with shower gel and shampoo provided. The kettle and tea and coffee facilities in the room were also very good and 'topped up' for us whilst we were out. There is a useful guide of place to eat and visit in the room. Gill recommended 'The Star', a pub about 100 yards away and it was a very good recommendation indeed - well worth a visit. Back in Rockingham Lodge we also made use of the cosy and very comfortable guest lounge and the Wi-Fi. The breakfast, which you order the night before at a time to suit your schedule, was plentiful, tasty and cooked to perfection! This place is a real gem.||Would we stay here again?...

Just home from a lovely three night stay at Rockingham lodge. Bedroom was spacious large bed and clean modern bathroom. Room looks out onto the square and for us city dwellers the peace was wonderful! |Gill is very friendly and welcoming gave us advice on places to go for dinner locally, and cooked us a lovely breakfast each morning!|The room has a welcome book with lots of suggestions of places to visit, we got through quite a few during our stay! Tideswell has lots of shops and we stayed during the Tidza Wakes celebrations which was great. Another wonderful trip to Tideswell at Rockingham Lodge which is still fabulous. Accommodates us and our dog with a small patio area at the back for a breath of fresh air if you don't want to go far.||Great facilities and welcome from Gill as usual. Only issue was the TV which did not have many stations to view but that only meant we watched the rugby in the pub on Saturday so not a hardship at all! So pleased the Star is up and running again and that nothing else changes in this wonderful part of the Peak District.
