American tourist visiting Cromford Mill, Cromford Canal, and High Peak Junction. I visited Cromford on May 10 2025. The weather was great. It was sunny, warm, but not hot. By the end of my visit I was hungry so I stopped at Tor Cafe for something to eat. Tor Cafe is located on the corner of Derby Rd and Mill Rd. Tor Cafe is not a fancy place. But the place is run by locals. The food is good and reasonably priced. The staff is helpful and friendly. I got a little breakfast sandwich (ham, sausage, and egg), a cup of tea, and a shot of espresso. Tor Cafe has seating upstairs, outdoor dining, with tall trees providing shade on a warm day. It is a hole-in-the-wall. But it is a great...

Deceptively small on the outside and easy to miss as it is well tucked away at a junction but once you enter the cafe ; it is a warm cosy space with a wide variety of vegan and vegetarian options on the menu that is served by enthusiastic staff. A regular jaunt for cyclists, it can be very busy during most times ( including winter). The prices are reasonable and the quality of food is very good. Flexibility in options is commendable. The table next to the counter is best avoided as it gets noisy with customers chatting away over your head and collecting orders. Will definitely be back . 30m parking on Mill Road . Free WiFi is a bonus as mobile...

All I can say is wow.. This little cafe is amazing. My two children are dairy free, i am a vegetarian and my partner a huge meat eater and our breakfasts this morning were devine. We luckily fell upon this cafe whilst visiting matlock for a break away and I'm so pleased we did.. The gentleman that served us was great with the girls too. They even had the most adorable little toys set up for children. And not forgetting every speciality tea you could think of. Our first visit and by far not our last.. One to visit if you are in...

We called in for a few sandwiches and drinks. It was not busy. We waited over 25 minutes and were getting a little annoyed as we had to ask if they'd forgotten us but we finally took the sandwiches and then headed on to a local attraction. Upon opening the ham sandwich we saw the bread was disgusting and covered in blue mould. The ham was also grey. Hideous.
