I have never ever had a worse experience in my entire 41 years. The woman who owns this cafe is absolutely out of control. What I experienced today was beyond belief. We were a party of 9 people with three young kids. We were told off for moving two tables closer together. Then we all ordered our food and drinks which took ages as the place was busy. My 11year old was sat eating a pizza he got from the pizza place next door and the drink from the cafe and we had our food. I had my one month old in one arm and three year old on my knee and the owner of the cafe walks up to my 11 year old and starts having a real go at him for eating the pizza from next door. She said he had to leave if he was eating the pizza so basically a child had to leave our party and eat on his own else where despite the fact we had all spent a fortune on food from her cafe and my 11 year old was having a drink bought from her cafe too. When my child said sorry I always eat my pizza in here when my mum and dad have their food she went bonkers basically calling us liars in front of a packed cafe. It was beyond humiliating. I had two kids on my knee and my other child was getting shouted at. If we had sat in her cafe eating food from else where or our own food fair enough but we were a party of 9 all eating her food and the kids wanted a bit of pizza from next door. She was really really aggressive, when we tried to diffuse the situation she was not having it. The level of aggression was really frightening especially directed towards a child. Sadly she is a private business not a council employee otherwise I would have taken my complaint all the way to the top. Having read the other reviews on here this is clearly an ongoing issue. The woman should not be in a public facing role she is aggressive and has anger issues. Literally everything is a...

Placed an order today 17th July 2024 and the order was placed on a tray and I paid for it without any problems. Once outside I realised there was a can of fanta missing so I went in to rectify the problem. The owner was quite obnoxious about the fact she misheard my request for the can of pop and wouldn't accept any responsibility for the order being wrong. To confound the problem she kept repeating I didn't order said item so it was a really kind and a wonderful gesture when the lady behind me offered to pay for the fanta at a cost of ÂŁ1.90 because I refused to buy it because as I'd already purchased my order the owner wanted me to pay the excess for using my card as my order was under ÂŁ5. The lady who offered to buy my fanta came over to our table when we got outside and reiterated that indeed I had clearly asked for fanta and the owner was indeed wrong. The fact the fanta was missed was not an issue but the attitude and behavior from the owner was quite appalling and to be honest I for one will not darken...

I was asked to respond to me earlier review of. “Poor customer service”. I was unable to reply to this on the original review so here it is.

I appreciate it was busy and things are difficult at the moment. However, this was our first time at the restaurant so we wasn’t sure on your rules for the restaurant with the current situation. We was just wanting a takeaway sandwich. We understood that we would need to wait and didn’t mind this. We did not expect to be served any sooner than customers sitting in the restaurant. But to be met with the short and rude comment of ‘You will have wait like everyone else. Just because you want takeaway doesn’t mean you will be served any quicker’. We felt this was unnecessary comment. We did not realise we would need to have a table. We was more than happy to wait at the gate to the restaurant. So not take a table away from people who wanted to eat in. The whole encounter made us feel uncomfortable and was just very unnecessary. The manner in which we was spoken to was...

This Tea Room was quite busy when I visited; it was a very warm day so there were lots of customers sitting outside enjoying the sunshine. I chose to sit inside. I enquired about gluten free options; the owner indicated to several cake/tray bakes however these were in with other cakes, not labelled gluten free and did not have separate serving utensils. I am not coeliac but avoid gluten. I ordered a tuna mayo jacket which was very tasty but looked ridiculous on an oversized plate with a small amount of salad. The pot of tea was good.

Yet another visit this morning for an excellent Butler's full English breakfast for me, with extra sausages to share with our three doggies!. Food is unfailingly luscious and we love our walkies at this beautiful place...and afterwards the unofficial Saturday morning 'doggie club' on the field behind the house. Beautiful sunny morning too...an added bonus! Staff are unfailingly friendly, courteous and efficient, and the costs reasonable for such delicious and high quality nosh! My wife tried a sausage sarnie today...loved it!

Wheelchair accessible entrance and seating. Friendly helpful staff. Small cafe with cobbles and flagstone floors. Unable to reserve tables so if unable to go upstairs to the upstairs seating area, I would avoid peak times, if sunny plenty of seating outside. Plus, if you have a dog or dogs they are welcome in the outside undercover room. They serve breakfast from 10am to 12 noon, also snacks and cake. There is also a specials menu and normal for menu served from 12 noon till 7pm. Reasonably priced homemade food.
