An absolute disgusting service and food in my sons first birthday on 30/09… We was basically chucked to the table, went to order drinks my partner ordered ours and bought my baby a capri sun which came with no straw and they said straws don’t come with capri suns 🤔 when they 100% do, so we had to shove a normal straw without a pointy end into his capri sun which spilled most of it out 🙃

Ordered food, The mixed grill was dry and had no flavour, i didn’t complain as I didn’t want to damper my baby’s first birthday as much as this place this.

No check backs were done!! I literally had to wave to someone at the bar to come over! (i wouldn’t walk over as i had two high chairs blocking me in) my dads fish was also like rubber and undercooked, curry sauce FREEZING! hardly apologised for this and they sent another one our 15 minutes later when the rest of the party was finished! And again no check back on this when it was rubbery and gross! all they had to say when my dad handed it back was ‘oh okay sorry’ like ?? 😂

We had a birthday cake too which we handed over, my dad handed it over and they never asked him if we wanted them to sing happy birthday? sorry but just common knowledge when someone hands you over a birthday cake to ask that question 🙃

When collecting our plates which had been sat there for a long time, the woman came over and said are you finished, so I said yes thank you, my mum made a lil joke at me saying not like they’ve been sat there for 12 hours, to which this woman gave dirty looks to us all! Sorry but have you worked properly in hospitality?😂

I could go on for days, ruined my little boys first birthday meal by how rude and dumb these workers were, guess you have to have no social skills or respect to get a job at The Chase 🤪

Anywho, just avoid. I shall add that it was DEAD in there, just one other table...

We used to visit here quite regularly as staff were always friendly and attentive and the food always good. Visited twice recently - late October and around Christmas. Both times were so disappointing. When we visited in October my daughter noticed a lot of glass around the play area, reported it to the staff who ignored it and didn't do anything until the pile of glass had been picked up by some older children and brought to the bar area. Second time around Christmas booked around 3 weeks in advance for festive afternoon tea. The booking was a mess in itself and paying the deposit took 15 minutes. When we arrived on the day everything was delayed - drinks pre-ordered had to be asked for, the actual meal had to be asked for, then no plates arrived, then no cutlery, paying for the meal took 15 minutes again and 4 members of staff. The other reserved tables were dressed up for Christmas apart from ours, which would have been nice as we were catching up with family members. The actual afternoon tea was beautiful and the chef is lovely but sadly the rest of the organisation lets it down. If you are wanting a stress free meal...

We went here after a remembrance parade, this year the 10th November we went to sevral places but all full there was only room here at this pub, myself being x forces we asked if they are doing discount to vets etc there reply was no we don't,..... then to add as you walked in there was no remembrance poppy's up etc, they had a Christmas tree up before remembrance day which is highly disrespectful in my opinion. We order food but but wish I'd walked out to be honest, when the food arrived I gave my chicken to a dog ner my table as it was as dry as a nuns c.......t but also to add the steak was covered in rock salt and was like eating the sea hence why i left it. there was no checking if the food was OK when we was eating it etc we forced it down because I'd been on parade in the cold most of the day and was starving... What a disrespectful and money grabbing business. But to add if you download a app you got a free drink but vetrans on remembrance day don't..... or get any money knocked off there bill. No wonder it had no vetrans in.... If I was you I'd avoid this place. Food overpriced ...
