Kayna’s Deli — Restaurant in Doncaster

Went in for a cuppa and snack. 3 generations, Nana, Mum and Grandson. Waitress said only the table was outside and even if a table became vacant we couldn’t come inside as it was booked. That was ok by us even though that information was said quite abruptly. We asked for menus and was given the same information again. Again we said that was fine but could we please have a menu. Once again we were given the same information in the same manner but added on the end was that she could give us the menu but we were to sit outside. My daughter said to her jovially that she talked a lot and I bet the other staff members ears must burn by the end of the day, still laughing we went to sit outside. After about a minute she came outside and we said we hadn’t chosen yet but would come back in to order. To which she said quite aggressively that she didn’t talk a lot and she didn’t live with Josh and walked back inside.Didn’t quite understand about who Josh was but decided we didn’t want to eat where the staff clearly had a problem with us so left and had our coffee and snack back at home. In these time where businesses are closing daily especially in the service industry it’s a shame that people cannot be polite when welcoming customers. Called Kayna's this morning just before lunch time to ask of they was open and had any tables free. Girl on the phone said that it would be free in ten mins but we may have to wait for 5 to ten minutes at the bar area and askef we woukd like to book it.said yes and gave my name abd advised waiting for 5 mins was fine. I told the girl we would be there in about 5 mins. Less than 20 minutes later we was at the shop and the girl behind the counter said she had to give our table away. How frustrating. This is probably the 3rd time we have tried to visit and the last time we tried it was closed when the website said it was open! What a waste of our time. I would advise to make sure that the website is up to date abd that a process is put in place regarding table bookings. Had the little breakfast my husband had the large one they were very tasty also bought a few cheeses off the deli counter again very nice. Been again to this place last week, what a difference, the food was lovely again can't fault that but the girl who served us was so rude, because it's a small place when you book they allocate a time slot about an hour and quarter I think and when asked if everything was OK my friend said jokingly yes lovely but could have done with another 20 minutes the waitress was so rude said if we didn't like it we didn't have to go back again, twice she said it to us I said I don't think you should be saying that to us, nobody out of the kitchen came out to intervene and say anything to her, then reading reviews a similar thing happened to a lady and her family, I can only guess it's the same waitress but she's losing them custom because I won't...
