A lovely building, friendly staff and a good selection of drinks. Why one star then? Because they served the very worst food I've ever had in my life. It was appalling. I started with a prawn cocktail. I'm a fan of prawn cocktails and I always enjoy them, except here. I didn't think it was possible to take such a basic dish (prawns, some salad and some sauce in a bowl) and ruin it but, somehow, they managed it. The prawns hadn't been defrosted properly and were hard in the middle. A couple still had bits of ice clinging to them! The salad was tired and soggy and the sauce was sludgy and tasted awful. I made the mistake of ordering starters and a main course at the same time. That was a ploughman's lunch. I won't go into details on this one, but it was another incredibly basic recipe that they managed to ruin. It didn't even have the right ingredients to be a ploughman's lunch!
