Not usually one to post reviews but I thought this place deserved a shout-out for being a cut above your average pub fare. The last pub meal we had was at a venue that is part of the Sizzling chain, where the bill was not far off what we paid at the Crabmill but so incredibly inferior that I feel others should know about it!

The Crabmill’s menu is higher end than other Greene King pubs in the area, but still very reasonably priced (£6 starter, £13 main as a very rough average). It’s a diverse menu that I suspected could be a little too ambitious, but what we had was well presented and served quickly considering it was a busy Friday evening (about 10 mins for starters, 15 mins for mains approx). The marinade on the cauliflower wings starter was very tasty, chicken strips were well garnished and hot sauce we asked for was tasty. For mains we had the lamb shank and mixed grill, lamb was perfectly cooked and veg was high quality (tenderstem broccoli) and on the mixed grill the steak was served medium as I asked for. The only thing we weren’t totally satisfied with was the Dark and Stormy cocktail which was a little watery, either the result of ginger beer off a tap or too much ice.

Our main server was very attentive, another waitress popped up to serve our second drink who was equally as polite and friendly - please pass it on that your servers on the evening of Friday 24th June are a credit to you. We’ll be visiting again very soon, keep up...

This place is HORRENDOUS !!! We had business in the area and we arrived at just turned 2 pm and we were reluctant to to stay as the place place is so dirty and untidy. However as we had already refused to eat at a local national managed pub and time was going on we decided to find a table amongst the chaos in this place. What a mistake we had made ! We ordered after a short time and we were served drinks quite promptly, Coke for my wife, which was a decent serve, and coffee for myself, which wasn't great in honesty. We then waited for about 25 minutes for our starters, cauliflower wings for myself an baked camenbere for my wife. Both were forgettable. We then waited for nearly a hour for our main meals. During this time a young lady, who I assume is the manager / duty manager came and told us that our meals were being plated up. The meals arrived about 20 minutes later and to say thet were poor is an understatement. We had ordered burgers. Mine was cold and burnt, the chips were cold and greasy, obviously refried. My wifes chicken burger was similar quality ... extremely poor. While we sat there we had time to notice that the manager / duty manager was wandering around with a piece of paper and wearing a lanyard with keys and fobs etc totally unaware of chaos that surrounded her. We are moving into the area soon but The Crabmill will definitely not be a place that we will be...

Where do I start, we went following the refurb at a time in our lives where the family had gathered for a specific occasion. The orders were taken and the time the selection of drinks were reasonable. Then 2 meals arrived, it came apparent they were incorrect, in fact they belonged to someone else,!! Then one of the family was told there was only pastrami for the sandwich, which turned to a pastrami sandwich, no cheese?! Odd as another family member had ordered a cheese sandwich. After a long wait the meat was tough and inedible. The sandwiches came, there was no pastrami just salami!! And the vintage cheddar was mild When complaining the waitress rolled her eyes and walked off, when confronted she cried. Told her to stop her tears pull herself together and find the manger, I explained no chips which were ordered had arrived and finally we got a refund and an appology. Would I recommend no, I think the staff all need customer service training or a change of career. Food mediocre nothing to shout about I'd suggest wetherpoons you know what your...

Came here for a Sunday lunch after going to Merry Hill. Was immediately taken by the design - really lovely pub, with great staff and dog friendly to boot! So the food...oh wow. The Sunday dinner was perfect, with exactly the right mix of veg and tender beef. But the dessert was something else. I had the roast peach Tarte Tatin - pictured - and I'm not exaggerating when I say it might be the best dessert I've ever had. It's not something I'd ever thought of before but I absolutely loved it. I've had a really really lovely afternoon here, and can't thank the staff enough - particularly Rachel, the waitress who helped me choose!

Booked 6pm Saturday evening. It was busy, but staff were friendly and attentive. Food was lovely.. well cooked and generous portions. I had salt & pepper squid followed by mussels. Both were delicious. Mussels came with sour dough bread and chips (also finger bowl with slice of lemon for messy fingers) Only down side was the group on the table next to us.. the 5 kids with them were running around, jumping on the furniture and screaming at the top of their voices! Next time will definitely book a later table.

I had a burger. Tad overdone was still delishio can't blame no one, if I wanted any other way I should have stated that when I made my order, which I didn't. Will be going back. Broad spectrum of drinks that WILL quench your thirst, also your reality. I actually enjoyed the brand of cider there, think it was called Lucy. Nice place, love where it's located, loved the service. Tried to look for the bar staff and chef before I left, to show appreciation. This place won't dissapoint. Top score from me.
