Having booked a room at short notice at the Seven Stars in Stourbridge I was delighted with the friendly staff and locals and the quality of the establishment. I was happy to pay £110 for the room given the short notice and Christmas period. The room itself was perfect except for the Aircon fans outside being slightly noisy but it wasn't really a problem. Unfortunately the room was located above the kitchen and at around 6.30am I was woken by the noise of a radio and someone singing loudly to the music. At this point I didn't know where the noise was coming from so I got dressed at knocked on the door of another room thinking that may be where the noise was coming from. A lady answered the door and it became obvious the noise wasn't coming from there. I apologised for disturbing them and she said they were up anyway so not to worry. I then went downstairs and realised the noise was coming from the kitchen. I walked in an asked the man there to turn the volume down and stated I'd paid £110 and didn't expect to be disturbed. He was very very aggressive and told me to get out as it was a private area. I responded by saying I'd paid for the privacy of a private room. As I walked away I realised he still had the radio blaring so I told him to turn it down again which he did but he was very aggressive. I then went back to bed for a little more sleep. The complete disregard for paying guests was appalling. When I left I dropped the room keys on the bar and a woman appeared and asked me if everything had been alright? I said I'll call you later. At that point she followed me out to speak to me. I explained what had happened and then she accused me of swearing at the man concerned which I absolutely hadn't. Then she claimed that I hadn't heard anything so I said there's no point discussing it but I won't be staying here again! Later on unbeknown to me my son called the b&b to complain after which the lady called me and told me the rooms are sound proofed which obviously they aren't. Unbelievably she again claimed I couldn't have heard noise in the kitchen from my room. At that point I politely ended the call. Does she honestly think I would complain about noise if there wasn't any? No apology or offer of any kind of recompense was attempted so consequently I've taken to social media to warn people that due to an aggressive inconsiderate individual there, they may not get what they're paying for.

What a brilliant BCA pub and being the largest been to so far. Its dog friendly, believe all BCA pubs are? The greatest shock walking into the bar is seeing 15 hand pulls on in bar and 7 in lounge = 22 pumps. None out of action permanently or left for days. It had 2 dark ales on, although had several times before settled on Salopian Port in a Storm as its one if the nicest stouts around brewed in Shrewsbury. The other shock was seeing how big the cobs were about 5" dia x 2 1/2" tall £4, took us 20 mins to scoff. Parkings out the long front. Another pub i wish was closer, and contender for best pub, well done BCA again with 2 great oubs in Stourbridge.

A large Black Country Brewery pub which serves several decent guest ales if you are not a fan of the local brew. A good selection of cobs . Importantly close to the station so it is a great place to finish a day out when exploring the Stourbridge area. It even has a train departures board in the bar so you can plan precious ale time to the minute. Black country Ales plan their pubs to perfection retaining the pubs traditional features. It is in effect the Stourbridge junction station buffet!! P s friendly staff of course.

I work in the area and live quite a distance away so sometimes stay over if I’ve got a late night and early morning. This is the first time I’ve stayed at the Seven Stars but it will definitely be my go to place. I didn’t arrive until 9.30 and had to go back out for work purposes so didn’t get chance to enjoy the hospitality and wide range of real ales in the bar. The young man who welcomed me and checked me in was lovely and friendly and the rooms are fab - spacious bathroom, beautifully clean and cosy and fab teas, coffees etc.||I didn’t get back from work until nearly 3am and while trying to let myself in I put my hand on the doorbell (goodness knows how as it’s at eye height but in my defence I was tired!). While walking up to my room I was met by a lady who had obviously got up to answer the bell but was very good natured about it. Needless to say I worried for about an hour as to whether she was the landlady who would be cooking my breakfast four hours later and sure enough she was! She was lovely about the fact that I woke her at 3am and brought me the best breakfast!||Breakfast is not included in the price but it’s well worth paying for. Be warned though - it’s big! Three bacon, two sausage, two eggs, two hash browns, beans, tomatoes, black pudding and toast, and none of the cheap, tasteless supermarket rubbish you get in lots of places.||My husband and I run a real ale pub ourselves so despite my fleeting visit I could see just how much time and effort goes into this place. I will be back and will make sure next time that’s it’s more than just somewhere to crash out for a couple of hours after working late.||Also worth noting that the pub is opposite Stourbridge Junction train station so good transport links if you...
