UPDATE: Decided to give the place one more try after the below experience as our 1st visit was not long after they opened.
Sad to say that our dine in experience was no better. I sent the pre-order for our table beforehand as requested, once we arrived we were informed that they hadn't received the email for some reason. They accepted responsibility straight away which is fair enough. As we were a large table this meant our order did take a while to get to us which put a downer on the group. Everybody's food was handed to them apart from mine. I waited 5 minutes after everyone else had theirs just in case but mine didn't turn up so had to go and ask for it.
Once again, the food is nice, I wouldn't call it amazing but definitely not unpleasant.
Mains finished and our plates didn't get cleared away. We managed to catch the attention of a waiter about 30 minutes after we all finished and asked for desserts. 2 plates got taken away and then desserts arrived. It may not sound like a big thing but eating dessert surrounded by empty plates from the main course just didn't feel right, it felt like we were just forgotten about.
All in all, a disappointing evening. Arrived at 7pm with our pre-order placed and left at 21:45. Unfortunately the restaurant just doesn't compare to other restaurants in the area. Won't be coming back again
1st Visit:
Ordered collection for 8:45, turned up on time and was told it would be a few minutes and to wait by the bar which was fine. Didn't get my food until 40 minutes later. The owner/manager asked me if I was waiting, I explained I'd been waiting for 30 minutes at this point. His response was "I'm sorry, you know what it is, they will have forgotten about you because you've hidden yourself away". I was sat directly next to the bar, not hidden away. I think this is just not good enough, how can it be my fault for doing what was asked? Based on that comment am I meant to keep prodding the busy servers every 10 minutes? Costa offered me a beer or a whiskey but I declined as I was driving.
As I was leaving the restaurant with my order Costa caught up to me to apologise and said next time we come he'll cook us a meal as an apology. I appreciate this but do feel it was too little too late.
The food was nice.
Was looking forward to trying this restaurant's menu but I feel my first experience has put me...
Read moreWe went on a Saturday afternoon.
We did not book but we arrived early and the place was empty.
So at 4:45 we were asked if we booked, no, so we were only allowed a drink. There were meant to be plenty of bookings from 5pm so just the 2 of us were not allowed in to eat.
We were told where to sit and we looked at the menu during a little drink, while the place was only open 2 weeks the menu was pretty grubby, verry poor for a top quality establishment, but we don't eat menus so no worries.
On the menu it looked like a poor man's Nandos but with more expensive prices.
So after 20 mins we were told to move because the table we were drinking at was needed for a table of 9 people. Fair enough, we moved.
We drank up after being there 30 mins, during that time we saw a further 4 couples rejected because they had not booked, however, no actual bookings turned up.
After we drank, by 5:15, none of the 5pm bookings arrived and I went toilet..... yeah baby.
Anyway, I walked upstairs and counted the number of empty tables, there were 19 empty, some for 2, some for 4 and 1 for 6. So in total places for 50 people.
But we we had still been rejected due to everyone that was to be arriving 15 minutes previous. No one with a booking actually arrived while we were there except for a family of 9 who were seated where we had been told to sit and drink and therefore had to move table.
The service we saw, well..... the couples we saw arrive were still having to wait 5 mins each before anyone told them to go away without a booking.
The 5 staff behind the bar were not actually working at the bar to be helping guests, they were just talking to each other. And wondering round looking lost.
In summary, we won't be going back, it looks like a fantastic place but operated by fools and the menu nandos would be ashamed of so bye bye from us.... we're...
Read moreVisited here for the first time on a Saturday night, wasn’t too busy as it’s a new place but still recommend to book. The staff were very attentive to us when we arrived and got seated at the top of the building. The setting and decor to the place is beautiful and modern. Got seated with two menus when there were four of us, with no drinks menu only a cocktails one. Got seen to and had our orders taken fine, wasn’t a long wait at all for the food and the food itself did not disappoint, absolutely beautiful flavours and a good variety to choose from. My only issue is that we didn’t get checked on enough in my opinion, only had the one round of drinks because nobody asked if we wanted any more, they took half the tables empty plates away when the other half were still eating (used to work in the industry and I know for a fact you shouldn’t do that) and then around quarter to 10 they just brought us the bill and told us that they close shortly. We then felt rushed to get out and it was a shame because some of us wanted deserts or another drink but as I said no one came to check or even tell us about closing time. They started stacking chairs around us even though there was still another table near us eating there food. We felt that rushed out we waited outside in the rain for our taxis because we felt like we couldn’t wait inside. This won’t stop us from Visiting again as the food was really good. Just a little more consideration...
