There was 7 in our part 6 adults and 1 year old (whose visit was for his birthday) I placed booking for table 24 hours before Upon arrival I said we needed high chair (booked on original booking) and was told the high chair was around the corner. As I understand this should have been ready at table upon arrival and under H&S a member if the public should not have to obtain chair themselves and bring to the table.
We arrived at 2.05 for 2.15 booking Placed our food order at approximately 2.35 and at 3.15 had to ask if our food was ready. Assistant seemed a little shocked that we did not have our food and returned within 5 minutes with food which appeared to have been sitting under hot plate as mash was dry on the surface, sweet potato fries and wrap was overcooked and dry Bowl with chips was chopped as per photograph. Gammon was very salty.
When food arrived we had to ask for cutlery, not provided beforehand.
My daughter in law asked for a latte coffee which after over 10 mins had to ask where latter was which took nearly a further 5 mins to arrive
We did have desserts which took longer than as a standard to arrive but timescale was acceptable.
There was another party in of approx 10 but they were finishing just after we arrived. Place had odd couples scattered but as a whole on a Monday was not busy upon arrival.
I cannot say that service was good as it was not, we may not be regulars but use a range of M&B facilities and this I had thought was of a better range but actually was disappointed with our visit. Every customer deserves good service no matter whether a regular or not.
At point of requesting discount to be added to bill we were kept waiting while 3 members of staff stood talking.
Our whole bill was quite high but it is immaterial whether you spend high or low, a regular or not every customer should...
Read morePositives - Food was nice, hot, and came farely quickly. The waitress who bought the food out was attentive and pleasant and seemed to be the only one on duty. She was rushed off her feet but kept a smile on her face. Negatives - Ordering on the APP needs considerable work. Awkward and very time consuming. Ordered main courses and drinks then checked out, it would not accept my BLUELIGHT CARD voucher for 25% off. Checked out and then food and drinks came. Decided to order desserts, again on the APP to find that all the previous order was still in basket. I asked the waitress about it and she advised that you had to go and edit the basket by deleting everything first. What a completely time consuming and unnecessary thing to do!!!! It took me nearly 20 minutes to delete everything and then put desserts in. They also offer a mini dessert and hot drink, when you select this option it does not allow you select your drink. I had to ask a member of staff about it and at first she said that if it wasn't ordered via the APP it couldn't be provided. She said she would check at the till. She came back and said she could provide tea or americano as the coffee machine was broken!! I would not be inclined to use the app in future. If I do return to an Ember Inn I would order at the bar in future, as it would be quicker and maybe vouchers would...
