Marmalade & Jam on the High Street, Ely is a MUST stop for a drink, breakfast, brunch or light meal! We were met by the biggest of smiles and a rousing come on in & take a seat. We couldn’t wait to look over the menu and choose our breakfast options on this particular weekday morning. The decor is most inviting and keeps your eyes entertained! Food is top notch, homemade, super tasty with the coleslaw being an outstanding little addition to any plate (the coleslaw recipe has been requested by celebrities - now that’s an accolade to be proud of!). Hot drinks were superb - latte and hot chocolate throughly enjoyed. The customer service levels at Marmalade & Jam are up there with the best. We felt like total individuals during our visit and our conversations flowed with absolute ease with the joyful lady on shift that morning. Please pop in, you won’t be disapppointed. For us, this is the best eatery in Ely and possibly one of...
Read moreWe were privileged to find this little gem today when visiting Ely! First my mum & I stopped off for a ‘pit stop’ & had a cappuccino & OJ. The service was so lovely. Super friendly & so welcoming! After we went around the few shops we wanted to visit we went back for some lunch! I had the ploughman’s and it was outstanding. Seriously the best ploughmans I have ever had. My mum has to have very basic food due to a tolerance so she opted for the scrambled eggs with ham! Both of us were really happy with the food! This place is so lovely! The service is outstanding. So friendly & polite and nothing is too much trouble. If you are in Ely we cannot recommend visiting this beautiful little gem! It was busy but very relaxing busy when we were there. Even a few tables outside on the front….We will definitely visit again when we visit Ely. Thank you to all of you that made our visit today so welcoming &...
Read moreThe two ladies working at the cafe (I really hope they own it) when we visited were really lovely, very friendly, nothing was too much trouble and patient beyond need. The carfe kitchen is on full view as is the washing up area ... they have given themselves nowehere to hide and work hard to ensure they don't need to hide! Everything from the floor to tables, kitchen to cutlery was very clean (some restaurants could learn from this pair). The food is cooked in-house and is alll very wholesome, clearly homemade, filling, tasty and fairly priced. Watch out for the Cheese-scones ... have to be amongst the best in the country. Yorkshire Tea ... nothing else to say other than, there two ladies clearlyt know tea! Generous portions ... undoubtedly, the best cafe in Ely but with few 'sitting-in' places ... they DEFINITELY "need a bigger boat"!! Make a visit ... we will for sure whenever...
