This was our first and last visit to this place. One of our party (of 9 plus a toddler) rang and tried to book this place and were told they wasn't taking bookings but if we turned up at the time requested they would accommodate us. Is that not a booking? We arrived at the time requested but were told there wasn't a table big enough for our group so we would have to wait outside and someone would come and get us when something became available. I suppose we should be grateful it wasn't raining! After half an hour and a couple of times of going in and seeing what was happening a member of staff came out and said we can have some high tables. One of us went in to see and they were way too high considering we had asked for a high chair. The high chairs do not have built in trays which means they need to be the same height as the tables. The tables offered meant that children would be much lower than the rest of the group and therefore this was unsuitable. Sometime later we were told there was a lower table available. We were led to a very low table with a low settee and a couple of armchairs which are entirely unsuitable to eat a meal at. Furthermore, this would have comfortably seated 4 people for a coffee and not 9 adults and a child for a meal. The staff refused to push some ordinary tables together for our group despite watching them doing it for other parties. We weren't advised of the ordering system and was just shown to the 'coffee table' and deserted. We therefore sat waiting for someone to take our order until some other customers told us we could go to the counter or use the app which most of us are not familiar with. We also had to pinch some spare chairs from empty tables as no effort was made by the staff to seat us all. These chairs were too high for the table we was at and there really wasn't room for them either. When our food and drinks did arrive people ended up eating with their plates on theirs laps. The staff were hopeless and had no idea how to deal with customers. Someone said they would clear our table when we'd finished our main course but that didn't happen. More drinks were ordered and when they were bought to the table they realised there wasn't room to put them down anywhere. Dripping glasses as well as hot drinks were passed over top of people which is a health and safety issue not to mention a lack of common sense. The food was overpriced for what it is, the service appalling and the place was too rowdy and uncomfortable. We left there regretting our decision to stay. We should have walked out as soon as we were shown to our 'table' which was a joke. None of our group will ever set foot in this place again. There are much better places than this around Ely, do yourselves a favour and...
Read moreThis was was my first visit to this establishment for a meal. Being disabled I found it quite spacious to accommodate my wheelchair. We ordered our meal and on delivery of our meal and discovered there was an error. We were advised that one of our other guests had received some of our order. I don't know what they expected me to do other that swap food between each other. Further enquires enabled us to get the correct order. After finishing my meal, I went to retrieve my car, only to discover that I had accidentally parked in the staff car park, not knowing it was private. There were no visible signs indicating that it was a restricted area, and a staff member had deliberately blocked me in. I believe this was done on purpose, as there was ample space for the car to be parked further away, allowing me to exit the car park. Although my disabled parking card was clearly displayed, which I later learned did not me the right to park in an unauthorised spot, I hadn’t intended to do so. When I returned to the restaurant to seek help identifying the owner of the cars, I was met with rude and abusive behavior from two staff members. Their actions felt like a deliberate attempt to ridicule two elderly individuals, one of whom was disabled. Instead of politely informing me that it was a private car park and assisting us in retrieving our vehicle, they displayed a shocking lack of respect for innocent customers who had just contributed to their wages. To avoid similar situations for future guests, I suggest that the restaurant enhances the visibility of its private car park signs, ensures that orders are delivered correctly, and provides further training for staff on appropriate behavior toward customers. They have a responsibility to uphold the company's image, which, in this instance, they failed to...
Read moreVisited with a group of friends. Ordered some light bites like halloumi fries, took the first mouthful of the cheese was delicious, dipped it in the “sauce” thought it was a bit strange but had a chilli kick so thought maybe the put sweet chilli instead of the chipotle sauce. After a few mouthfuls I thought this tastes like strawberry jam! So asked the waitress is this jam she rushed it to the kitchen 5-7 later after my halloumi was cold a “manager” comes over and says I’m very sorry we’ve ran out of the chipotle so chef thought jam with chilli would work! Sooo grossed out! I can’t get over someone serving that to a paying customer, I was offered some chips as a apology, he said cheesy chips? I said no just plain. And they then bought cheesy chips out. Fine we all ate them. Then I ordered a elderflower spritz ( all there cocktails have what they are made with on the menu) I went for this one as it had lemonade mixer not soda. When it came it was soda so I went to the bar and said is this the elderflower spritz they said yes, I said ohh on the menu it says it’s made with lemonade not soda. The bar tender said well that’s what a spritz is soda! I said well the menu says lemonade, that was followed by ohh the menu is wrong must be a typo! Why are your bar tenders making there own drinks and not following the menu I paid nearly £20 for to cocktails that were not made to the menu. Also drinks on the app that weren’t available after ordering. I love this place such a great atmosphere but felt soo let down this evening. Don’t think I will...
