Very disappointed. Thought we had found a great place for a beer and lunch. Asked for draft beer and was told they had two lagers and two 'ales' and that one was a pale ale. Certainly wasn't. Smelled fruity like cider, as was its taste. Had one taste and passed it to my wife who said the same. Told waitress I didn't like it and can't drink cider. She said it wasn't a cider. No other suitable ales on draft so ordered a bottled pale ale. My pork pie was ok but my wife's scotch egg had virtually no meat around the egg and was extremely ordinary. Food platters are nothing special. On paying the bill the staff didnt offer any discount for the mis-sold beer. Said it was a saison beer, but I had wanted a craft pale ale as I had been told it was. Staff said they had no authority to make any discrecionary adjustment to the bill. Very poor customer relations and very poor knowledge and descriptions of the beer they sell. Won't go there again....left very angry, will use the micro-pub across the road with good food platters and proper...

I highly recommend going when the weather is nice out so you can sit on the terrace - there is indoor seating too, but there's not many tables so may be difficult to secure one...
