Cafe Thyme — Restaurant in East Hertfordshire

In a world where high streets are filled with samey coffee shop franchises and multi-national corperations, Café Thyme is a great little independent alternative.

I love a Costa coffee, but find the pre-packed panini served in places like that particularly uninspiring. I always prefer independent cafés when going for lunch, and Café Thyme is by far my favourite in Bishop's Stortford.

The food is excellent and the staff are lovely, and there's always an excellent choice of cakes on offer as well as some fantastic healthy options, perfect for a post-workout lunch.

Ideally located in the centre of town near the main car park, it's a great place to sit and watch the world go by.

Price-wise it's what you'd expect to pay in most places, but the quality is far greater.

Have been coming here for years, and will continue to do so for years to come (as long as people continue to support places like this and don't let Starbucks...

Would rather starve! Have been here a few times but wont go again, although the food is nice the owner or the lady who makes the food is horrible, the last 3 times i have been, she has looked me up & down, talks to me in a way that i feel so small whilst i am waiting. They charge £4.50 for a simple sandwich with no salad on the side. I would happily pay if i got the service as well! There is no smiles just sly attitude, the other staff are pleasant but the lady who makes the food is horrible, i would rather starve than be made to feel i have by the lady. I will be taking my money elsewhere & support / recommend a business that provides good food & service & doesn't make me feel like i do...

We love to visit Hanna and her team whenever we are in town for delicious sandwiches and cakes. It's been mum's favourite cafe since they opened.

We recently engaged them for outside catering - a range of sandwiches, quiches, cakes and scones - all of which were fresh, tasty and beautifully presented, and very reasonably priced. Hanna thought of everything from dietary needs to how to set up and serve in a venue neither of us knew well, and made sure the place was left spotless. She took all the stress out of a difficult day.
