The Bishop's Cave — Restaurant in East Hertfordshire

Giving a 2 star as we've been on a number of occasions and really like the bishops cave. However my partner and I were taken down with covid this week like a lot of people and legally had to self isolate when my partner called to let them know, the man on the phone was just was really short and hung up on her when she said she needed to cancel due to having covid. Thinking the line must have dropped my partner rang back and said sorry i think we must have got cut off and he said I’ve cancelled it and hung up again! We both appreciate its tough times for the industry and hospitality but...

A friend of mine was visiting from the states and we decided to go here as I had seen people sitting out front of a summer night. We were delighted, the staff were terrific, so friendly. The wine was simply out of this world and the cheeses? We just had to keep asking for more! We thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and before we knew it the venue was bustling with people coming to indulge in some wine and cheese....

Always a good choice for cheese and wine lovers. We went recently and there weren't any menus so we could go and pick our cheese from the counter. A lovely ideas (expect trying to remember all the names) It's normally noisey in the evenings. It's tends to be to packed which is lovely but prefer it at lunchtime for a more relaxed feel.
