We've been here a few times this week the first two times I had the wrap, it was nice the spicy chips/ loaded chips and cheesy garlic bread was nice, my husbands 1/2 chicken was lovely, I decided on our big family meal night (my parents last night here) there was 7 of us, to try the chicken breast with two sides it took nearly an hour to get out to us and when It came out the chicken breast was tiny! Like It was the size of a kids chicken breast (in other restaurants we've been too) where they usually cut It in half... It was also rock solid dried out. I asked if that was the right size chicken breast for an adults meal the "manager" Tristan said that was the size of it I said it was tiny, he said that's what It is, I asked if I could change the order he refused with a proper snotty attitude the whole way through everything that he was saying was in a horrible tone of voice scowling and pulling faces eventually I refused the whole meal. I looked at the children's chicken burger meals and their chicken breast on their burger was the same size as mine.... Mine cost £14.95 and it was the same size!! Great value for kids meal. The "manager" then went over and was obviously speaking to the chef about the encounter and then chef was then sending horrible looks over too our table the whole meal, it just made the whole meal really awkward and really unpleasant which ruined the whole meal to end the holiday. The first meal we had there was a man who worked there storming around and even swore at one point. The staff obviously need training on their customer service because after seeing how the manager acts towards customers I can then see how the first guy thinks it's acceptable to act the way he was. I understand that most of the workers are young students who are making a little bit of money while on summer holidays from uni ect but we are still paying customers who have paid for a very expensive holiday and paying to eat in the establishment with in our holiday and don't deserve to be treated the way we was. Also to be giving a child's portion size of chicken at the chicken shop for the same price as a half chicken which to be fair to them is a really good size and included an actual real sized chicken breast is shocking! To be spoken to the way we was was disgusting, and manager Tristan Hall should defos not be employed again. What a joke he is who can not and should not work...
Read moreWe had a terrible experience trying to get a table at firehouse. We turned up as soon as it opened and were told to come back ar 630 where they would try and get us a table. Despite turning up at 630 they were unable to seat us still (bearing in mind we were told you cannot book yet they were able to derive availability regardless) we came again at 830 to be told that they cannot serve us (a party of 8 including a heavily pregnant woman) because they had a party of 40 just turn up. When we asked how this part of 40 were able to turn up and eat when we had made 3 attempts during the day, we were told it was because the party of 40 "walked in" but clearly this rule didnt apply to our 3 attempts. The whole system and attitiude of the resturant is dreadful. There is no way any rationale or basic level of business/consumer management has gone into the model and I can only compare its approach to creating a succseful businnes to that of a blind man serving ice cream to lactose intolerant eskimos in the north pole.
Then we come to Arthur, the gatekeeper, this person was dreadful to interact with. His attitude was terrible to us and he was not only stand offish but openly commented that he was uncomfortable with the tallest member of our parties height. With no regard to how this made him feel. Its almost like Arthur got some kind of kick from the power he was granted, maybe the clipboard has corrupted him. Maybe hes dealing with some personal issues on his world of warcraft server..either way he should not be workkng front of house and was definatley the cherry on top of our sundae of dissapointment and regrrt for choosing this resturant.
Ultimatley we would not reccomend and have been very let down...

By the time one of our guys had ordered his food and then waited for his drink at the bar, his own food arrived at the table before he did. Red Flag!! The pictures attached are genuine, and I'll explain each one. Garlic bread was rather burnt and flat cold or not cooked long enough and flat cold as the cheese hadn't melted properly. The chicken strips were rock hard. You could have killed someone with them!! The loaded dirty fries had big red peeled chunks of onion slapped on top. Pointless, who's eating that?! The seasoned fries were hit and miss as the cook had just splashed a bit on top, so all the rest underneath weren't touched and bland. The Corn on the Cob looked unsafe, like it had been picked out of a bin. Parts of it were black. The chicken wrap became a soggy mess from the bottom and disintegrated, and the chicken inside looked discoloured and processed, and the taste wasn't too great either. It wasn't that busy at all, and I can understand why as nothing is made fresh, and the food is fired at you quicker than water out of a tap.
The only half decent thing about this place is the service. Carol, who got us our table, you are too good for the establishment, find another job! but ultimately, the food needs to be on parr with the service. Otherwise, what's the point. Very disappointing! I suggest if you want some decent hot food in butlins go anywhere...
