We have visited this restaurant on two occasions. The first visit the food was good, with us both ordering a main. However, the problem on this first occasion was due to pregnancy we wanted to check for alcohol in one of the sauces. The staff had absolutely no clue at all, they then went to check with the chefs who advised it probably did? This is slightly concerning staff do not know what is in some of the food. However, on this occasion the food was good.
Therefore, we visited on a separate occasion, sadly I cannot say the same this time. We waited over 10 minutes to be seated and nobody arrived so we went and took a seat with only 2 other people in the restaurant there was plenty of space. We took a seat on a small soft booth as one visitor was heavily pregnant and were then told to move to a different table? We then wanted to order 2 milkshakes on the 2 for £12 offer. The 30 year old was then ID for a Bailey's chocolate milkshake, ok this is understandable but to then ID a clearly pregnant lady for a bubblegum milkshake just because she is on the same table is offence. We were then told that because one of the milkshakes contained alcohol we could not have the two for £12 even though they were advertised at that price and the only two milkshakes in that section?! Just doesn't make sense.
After this second visit and experience sadly we will not...

This is our first family break and decided to try the diner as had variety for all family.
I had the £18.50 chicken and ribs, I could see straight away see how this was made, first of all the small rack of ribs is 1/4 of Aldi full rack for £3 ( microwaved) the chicken is like a farmfoods bagged frozen pieces sh*t watery and salty. 3 southern fried chicken were tasteless probs from farm foods. Filled the plate with chips ( cheap as chips) smidgen of coleslaw I thought was for my toddler. Macaroni cheese bites for toddler awful, battered cylinders with pieces of macaroni inside this turns up piping red hot in the middle so if your happy waiting 20 mins for this to cool down before letting your child eat it AVOID! Beans looked like been sat there all day, Other child, tinned processed hotdog with stale bun. Other adult meal chicken and chips was literally a plate full of chips with a small piece of chicken (the same as previous chicken I described) that would of only been enough for a toddler.
For food . Would of gave another half star if had the choice of being able to exchange chips for diff potatoe product ie jacket potato/mash - said this wasn’t possible
For me I’m not one for leaving reviews but this is a must for any family’s considering...

We had been given a conplimentary meal on Butlins for all the agro we had when we got to our apppartment so we decided to go to The Diner.
We arrived and and it was quite empty. Which did not put us off. We are a party of 8 and we were seated in a booth in the corner near REDS. We soon realised why the venue was empty as there was a bombardment of flies EVERYWHERE.
We had already ordered our food and it was getting unbareable. When the food arrrived it got even worse. How this place has not been closed down for poor hygene i do not know.
We tried our best to eat but it was impossible. A couple of us tried to sit somewhere else but it was no good they were everywhere.
We understand that its not the staffs fault, especially when they told us that they are told by Butlins to remain open no matter what.
We could not enjoy our meals. At one point i was stood at the bar eating my meal, our friend was in another booth somewhere else in the venue.
The staff worked hard to sort out getting our complimentary meals back, plus the refund for the add-ons we had. Plus they boxed up our deserts.
How this place is still open in this condition...
