AVOID AVOID AVOID!!
Visited there today with my family and we were ‘greeted’ by unfriendly young girl (who clearly has never been CS trained) who abruptly told us there were only tables available inside.
When I said we’ll wait a few mins to see if an outside table became available (as hot day), she just shrugged!
Anyway, luckily (or unluckily as it turned out!) a table was vacated shortly after, so we nabbed it & were briefly content to sit in the sun at the umbrella’d table & listen to the local ducks.
Me & my daughter ordered their cooked breakfast & tea & my wife ordered the poached eggs on toast with an oat milk latte.
The breakfasts came with black pudding, which we were matter of factly told could not be swapped for another plated item, so we asked for them not to be served to us.
When the food & drinks came, my wife’s latte tasted absolutely horrid, as was our cooked breakfasts. I had to spit out the mouthful of sausage, it tasted bitter/rancid & the bacon tasted & looked like thick cut ham! My daughter didn’t like it either & my wife agreed it tasted disgusting.
We complained & they took the cost of the meals off the bill, so we only paid for the drinks but there was just more shrugs & no apology or even any questions from anyone in charge!
My wife felt ill shortly after eating her poached eggs as well!
Please avoid this place - poor service & even poorer food - we wouldn’t want this shocking experience happening to...
Read moreThe Bridge 17 Bridge St Horncastle We were visiting Horncastle and fancied some lunch, when we spotted “The Bridge Cafe and Antiques Centre” which looked lovely and meals advertised on board seemed good value at £7.50 each. We chose the Shepherds Pie and the Sausage Mash and Veg. When meals arrived I was very disappointed…my Sausage and Mash comprised of 3 x relatively small sausages with a very tiny portion (and I mean TINY) of cold veg that tasted strange, plenty of mash but it was hard stodgy and tasteless, thankfully it came with a jug of gravy that was nice and helped to make the meal palatable. We also had 2 x Large Coffees at £3.95 each which included a refill, although the waitress forgot our refills and we had to ask again!! Overall the service was Poor and the Waitress appeared Miserable with No Interaction and a little offhand clearly not happy in her work, which isn’t the attitude needed for a successful business. The Chef was also miserable. This Place was a real Let-Down in both the food on offer and the unwelcoming attitude of staff. Clearly in need of improvement. Needless to say we won’t be back and would definitely...
Read moreI called in to the Bridge with family for lunch . We had 2 dogs with us & were made really welcome by all the staff. The menu had a great choice of lunches, mains, soup, baguettes , panini and also a specials board . All three of us chose a different item from the menu. I ordered a baguette & asked for a combination of fillings that wasn’t listed . No problem at all for the waitress who served us really politely & with a smile. We were all amazed how quickly the food was prepared with one of us ordering a jacket potato & chilli. All the portions were impressive & it was obvious the food was freshly prepared and tasted delicious. There was a good selection of delicious looking cakes and scones including GF options . The lunch was so tasty we didn’t want to leave any which meant sadly no room for the cakes. But a good reason to return for another visit. I would highly recommend a visit to The Bridge. Prices were really reasonable with 3 cold drinks, 3 hot drinks , 3 large lunches for around £34 . All served fresh and with a smile . Please send our thanks and compliments ...
