Costa Coffee — Restaurant in East Lindsey

I honestly don't know what went wrong with Costa today. Usually I expect the same level of service in all locations - close to excellent. Wait to be served was very long, staff didn't seem to know what they are doing and taking very long time doing so. There was only 3 people to be served before us (2 of them together), but we waited approximately 15 min to get to the till. There was about 3-4 tables taken down stairs and others had trays and empty cups on them. We were told that our coffee and panini will be brought to us, so went upstairs. Not one other customer was upstairs, but loads of dirty tables, trays and cups everywhere. We waited at least another 10 min (ok, we had a Panini) but coffee was faul - weak and lukewarm. Also, not that it's extremely important, but our latte was served in cappuccino cups, just to give you idea how many dirty latte cups were everywhere. Panini was nice and so was the view out the first...

The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming but unfortunately if you are disabled or not able to climb quite a few stairs you are limited to sitting downstairs on normal chairs. If you are able bodied, you can go upstairs and relax in cozy chair's/settees. It could really benefit from a lift/second handrail to enable everyone to enjoy the cozy seating not just the able-bodied. We use Costa a lot and have to say we were very disappointed by this especially as we live in Horncastle and was looking forward to meeting up with family and friends there to catch up and relax over coffee and cake and enjoy sitting on comfortable settees/chair's. Come on Costa what were you thinking?

Always good everytime we go in there, whether we order a cappuccino, latte or frappe. Staff are always friendly and helpful, as they always help us in with our pushchair as there's a few steps into the café as it's an old building. Foods always good and typically as expensive as you expect costa to be. Nice atmosphere and nicely furnished, always a busy café as it's in the heart of horncastle but you'll always find somewhere to sit as there is seating upstairs and the staff will happily bring your drinks...
