And a good size venue.

Attended a wake here - a mining and brass band community farewell to a much loved husband, father and grandfather, colleague, and our close family friend.

The pub team coped brilliantly with a lot of people all at once (as well as locals I notoced).

A simple buffet was provided that was fresh and tasty - both sandwiches and some hot bites - followed with a taste of cakes were all good quality and welcome. Good local pub.

I'm fairly old and have sadly been to a good few wakes. This was a well run one. The Jack Snipe did this occasion proud.

I came here purely by accident. Me and my children had been out at the aquarium and we were going to drive home for tea but as I was driving past here thought it looked nice. There was plenty of parking and there was also a ramp for wheelchair access (for my daughter). As we entered a gentleman held the door open for us, once inside we were told they had stopped serving at 3pm, (we arrived at 4pm) but they could still do us a dinner. At this point it was apparent the gentleman who held the door open for us was one half of the couple who run it. His wife served us for our drinks and both were polite and helpful. Our food was presented as would be expected with a side dish with mint sauce. My daughter is in a wheelchair and once we had finished whilst our plates were being cleared, the gentleman asked the reason for my daughter being in the wheelchair. I was happy to answer, I do feel if I'd of said I didn't want to discuss it he would of respected that. The disabled toilet are easily accessed, very spacious and clean. This is a place we will...

Horrible. Didn’t like it, used the lavatory and was not happy, toilet paper everywhere, none running water and the filth! Ew! The staff were rude to us because we brought our Dog inside, but the sign outside allowed dogs inside! Annoying. The people there was rude too, it was a very uncomfortable environment. As well as this, the car park was not up to standards, there was sharp little objects everywhere across the rubble, which I wouldn’t be surprised if anyone has gotten a flat tire from! This needs to be attended to asap. We planned to get a quick Dinner, but because of the rude staff, uncomfortable atmosphere and filthy environment, we only got a Coke Zero each, which they didn’t like that we had used the toilets but only bought drinks. The drinks were warm, it was the middle of August but there was no Fridges working I believe. I was in disbelief when we was told it was £4.50 for 2 cans, we bought them but we have never reuturned.
