Ordered food from here a few times heres my conclusion.
Pros: Shop is clean and tidy, parking is great and service is offered 24/7
Cons: Service was slow pre lockdown and post lockdown - doesn't seem to be run well with staff not being utilised efficiently. This creates massive delays and back log. Compared to other subways in Burton and across the country this is by far the lowest quality, the taste of the sandwiches is poor and food is usually cold (by the time it arrives)
Personal experience: Ordered a few times giving them the benefit of doubt but each time service has been poor. The last straw was my order placed on 2nd March 2021 afternoon on justeat. Instantly the app told me the delivery will be in 2 hours. Thought there was some mistake so called the store, spoke to a gentleman who said "this is correct, we are extremely busy at the moment and thats the earliest we can deliver unless you want to collect". I thought fine I'll collect, went to the store and to my surprise there were no customers at all. Maybe giving the store the benefit of doubt what they meant by "extremely busy" was their 1 driver and car was busy doing many deliveries (To overcome this the store should look at signing up to ubereats so they can utilise many external drivers rather than relying on their internal employed driver who appears to be overworked). So I picked up the food and find im still being charged delivery and the store can't do anything about it I'd have to get in touch on the app... talk about inconvenience. Got home opened the box and strangely the layout was different, the 6 inch sandwich was split into two parts and the sauce was given separately. Taste wasnt the greatest would give it 2/5.
Conclusion: Despite the store looking great and being in an ideal place I believe there seems to be managerial issues here as the store is not being run efficiently and effectively. This is costing the store. I wouldn't recommend ordering to deliver as minimum time is 2 hours, and food quality is poor. Read moreWe ordered a subway at 11:45 on a Wednesday lunch time, and the website advised it would be with us within 45 minutes. We didn't receive a confirmation email for some reason, but we screen shot the order number and confirmation on the website anyway. My husband called just to confirm they had received the order for this reason and gave his name, and we were told it had just left with the driver so will be with us soon. Another 40 minutes later, he called again as still nothing. We were again told it had left, and that there could be traffic etc. 2 hours later, my husband called again (we had checked traffic conditions in the area at this point) and he was told the order hadn't been sent out. We don't know why one of the workers chose to lie to us twice about the status of our order. Whether she checked the order status at all is a mystery, but we provided all the details she needed to do so. We cancelled our order and are awaiting a full refund. Really disappointing.
Our previous experiences with this branch include: Incorrect order being delivered (literally someone else's order). Incorrect order (missing items, sandwiches not toasted when we had requested this etc and this happens often). Bless the young lad who was going at his own pace not the usual subway pace which is quite quick but can forgive him as may be in training- however due him working in this way, work orders were piling up for him to do- at one point my second footlong was moved and put behind another order which meant I could have easily have taken the customer’s order behind me. I had to point this out - not happy with how the staff member at counter 1 couldn’t help the young lad . She could see the orders piling up- no support from the colleague - not much team work either.
There was a wasp buzzing around literally on all the food bains- if this fly had come any where near my food I would not have brought any of my order!! No one seem to be bothered about this, footlongs after foollongs were placed and then after seeing my reaction , a member of staff covered the sandwiches.
