Greggs — Restaurant in East Suffolk

Arrived in Beccles and in a hurry. For once there was a queue of only one so I grabbed a pack of four sausage rolls and had the money ready to pay. Easy you would think to purchase with three behind the counter. WRONG. I observed one man making coffee, one lady filling a bacon roll for the lady who ordered before me and a young girl who simply avoided the till area by scurrying around doing other things. Quickly the queue built to six, all of which were ignored. Finally she stood in front of the other till rather than the one I was stood at and asked if anyone was waiting. So I picked up my prepackaged rolls and took them to her. No apology and everyone in the queue were voicing their exasperation at the wait. The lack of interest shown by the staff was astounding, clearly Beccles has quite a large number of retirees who have plenty of time on their hands but everyone in the queue I was in were of working age and wanted to get on. Very nice experience at this Greggs. Plenty of options for food and being a vegetarian there was plenty to choose from. The queue went down in little time and I was served quickly. The service was friendly. I chose to sit in but I left shortly due to it being quite dark in there and I wasn’t a huge fan of the seating arrangement personally.
