I’m afraid to say please avoid here if you have allergies as I have been unwell with a reaction since my visit yesterday. I was so hopeful as they provided a gluten free menu which is usually a positive sign, but firstly the GF brownie arrived with lettering in raspberry ( I have an allergy to some fruits as well as wheat / gluten since my pregnancies and it did not state it would arrive with a raspberry accompaniment ) it had also arrived without the promised ice cream but as per I was nervous enough needing to return the food due to the raspberry coulis as I’m tired of feeling a burden because eating out is always a daunting process, I considered eating the brownie as it seemed to not have touched the raspberry so had stuck my cake fork in it but then thought better of it , after returning the brownie it arrived back with the ice cream but was the same brownie ( as I could see the mark on the brownie) maybe my mistake for not once again returning the food and asking for a fresh brownie altogether rather than the same one on another plate but goodness I’ve paid for it since 😞 I feel there needs to be better education regarding allergies/ cross contamination etc so someone does not react the way I have and unfortunately I cannot trust eating here again Unfortunately it seems nothing will be learnt going by the Twyford response ! if they will not acknowledge that I stated I had marked the brownie so could see with my own eyes they had returned the same on replacement This makes them not only irresponsible with allergies but dishonest too Very...
Read moreWe have visited this cafe a few times over the year, previously the sandwiches were good. However, today, my wife ordered the Reuben, the beef was dry, fatty and chewy. My bacon brie and cranberry was fine. My wife ate half of her sandwich, when we went to pay I informed the waitress and asked if the chef had changed, she apologised but that doesn't resolve the problem with a sandwich that wasn't enjoyable. I was going to buy cakes to take home but after that decided against it. It appears there is no point bringing an issue to their attention so therefore we will not return. It's a shame because we loved it there. Service from the waitress was excellent. Finally, just checked with the menu and it did not come with the cheese. Shouldn't have to pay full price for something that is dreadful.
Just received a response from the owner. My wife has ordered the Reuben on two previous occasions, this time it was dry, fatty and chewy, it did not come with cheese, in addition we were charged for the Reuben. It was not the fault of the waitress and we were charged for the Reuben. So suggesting we didn't receive the correct sandwich does not help, also if that was correct you have overcharged us.
We will not be returning and your response at the time of bringing this to your attention and to my review has given us no...
Read moreA stunning cafe! it had been recommended to me by a works colleague before my family holiday and 1 rainy afternoon last week we decided to venture out for an afternoon pick me up... On the way over we rang up to ensure there was space and the helpful lady instantly booked a couple of tables that had just freed up. I was so glad we had as the place look busy, but was so well spaced out that it wasn't too noisy and there was plenty of space to move about and be heard. Once we had been seated we looked through the menu and decided on the Afternoon Tea... When they arrived, they were beautifully displayed on a 3 tiered stand with dainty sandwiches (different flavours over the 3 stands!!) slices of quiche, sausage rolls and then cakes and the obligatory scones and cream. Everything was delicious, and nothing felt (or tasted) like a filler, all was very yummy! I'd say it was all so good, my wife and I decided to go back a day or so later with our 2 children for a morning snack and for our eldest to have her ice cream... this 2nd visit didn't drop in standards! I had a coffee and 1 of the daily cakes! a rather yummy coffee cake! it was superb! I wouldn't hesitate to go back, and I'd definitely...
