We had a delightful meal at the Coach & Horses Pub in Woodbridge. We came in on a rainy August bank holiday weekend lunchtime, and although somewhat busy, the staff could accommodate the four of us. The decor is nicely done. It’s got a relaxed vibe, and (although we didn't have a dog with us) we were delighted to see that our four-legged friends were welcome! We sat by the front window and were served quickly by a super polite and attentive waitress. It’s a Suffolk pub, so expect Adnams! Tiny points were lost because of the food's delay (around 45 minutes), but given the business, it’s not a huge surprise. Also, we all agreed that we’d rather wait a little longer for quality, which we most certainly got! Yes, the food - it was incredible. Everything was spot on, from portion size to the quality of ingredients—I have absolutely no complaints. It was a superb lunch, and although we’re not in the area very often, we’ll undoubtedly make the trip again next time we're down. Extra points for: - Complimentary Wifi - A well-stocked and varied bar - Friendly and helpful staff - Loads of free parking at the front A few minors: - A slight wait for our food - we had to ask for the bill a couple of times. I think we got forgotten (but no big deal) - It's not the most extensive veggie menu, but it's still ok.

Please note that this was written during Covid-19 restrictions and so spacing , face masks and hand sanitisers are/were important. šŸ‘ŒšŸ½šŸ˜·šŸ‘šŸ½ Great food and service, nice spacious seating, clean and pleasant environment. They make excellent chips, both regular potato and sweet potato varieties and, both are gluten free! They also make very nice coffee! I have lots of food intolerances and they somehow managed to make me a meal that was fabulous and that left me stuffed full! I have only sat in the outdoor seating area so far but, looking in through the windows, the inside seating looks really lovely. I think you have to book if you want to be seated indoors but I would phone and check. I have been inside to use the toilets on my visits and found these to be clean and well kept. They have installed automatic hand sanitisers at the ordering hatch, the front door and the archway into the toilets. Almost all staff were using face masks. They have tape on the floor showing safe spacing too. I highly recommend this pub for food, drink and good service!

The interior struck a perfect balance between modern elegance and refined country charm, creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. I appreciated that they offered rice-based dishes on the menu, which added a nice variety to the meal. The food was served with impeccable timing after ordering, contributing to a smooth and pleasant dining experience. Most of all, I was deeply moved by the fact that I could enjoy the meal indoors with my dog. The spacious layout was well-considered—not enclosed by doors, yet gently separated into rooms—allowing plenty of distance so that even guests without pets could feel at ease. This thoughtful consideration for all diners made the visit truly special. The restroom facilities were also impressively clean and spacious, adding another layer of comfort to the overall experience. I’ll definitely be returning—it’s become a place close to my heart.

The Coach and Horses does sell some decent ales with a good variety. They do however only have a small selection of lagers such as Peroni and the prices that they charge are exuberantly expensive.

I have found a lot of time that their food is enjoyable, however I have had a very poor experience when I found the food not only it being expensive but when trying to turn around and get a refund was refused although I hadn't actually eaten any of the food itself as it was unsatisfactory.

After turning around and presenting this complaint to the waiter it took a very long period of time to come to an agreement as to what we should and should not pay for. The dispute went on for so long that nearby customers also decided to get involved because it was disrupting their own meals.

However after actually coming to an agreement with the waiter the manager decided to come over and start the whole process again leading me to turn around and pay for the full amount in a very unsatisfactory manner and have yet to return to the premises due to such a poor experience.

I am not here to completely undermine a business and make it look bad for everybody else to read the news as it was just this one experience that I had being unsatisfactory where as many others in the past have been excellent.

Should the manager have not got involved this dispute would have been settled easily and I would have returned on many different occasions. Due to interference it has led me to have anxieties upon return to the premis, therefore not being able to obtain an acceptable service.

I hope that this report doesn't turn around your choice to frequent this establishment, and has assisted you in your choice whether you would like to dine on there or just have a beer but I wish you all and the Coach and Horses the best of luck, kindest...

Came in here for Mother’s Day 2022, can honestly say the young lady who served us was great at her job, it’s just a pity that the food didn’t live up to the standard. I have visited here many times and have good memories here. It is unfortunate that the one important occasion I brought my family here didn’t live up to the previous standard. We all had the roasts (as it was Sunday) and it was advertised as a luxurious roast for Ā£16.50, coming with the meat of choice, Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes and vegetables. The meat was, admittedly, delightful. However, the vegetables were completely rock hard and we only received one Ā£2 sized piece of cauliflower for cauliflower cheese on each of our places. A member of our party, who is a coeliac, asked for extra potatoes in exchange for a Yorkshire and cauliflower cheese (which contained flour so they couldn’t eat it). They received 3 potatoes total and therefore were unimpressed with the Main. The dessert was lovely, and the manager and server were accommodating with our comment on the food and reduced the total bill which was appreciated, but we would have the preferred portion sizes that we observed on the walk in (which is we noted, were much larger than what we received). I genuinely love this restaurant and this has been my first negative experience with this pub so it is not something to fully judge it by, but just something to keep in mind. I am just disappointed that my mother had a lunch that I could have legitimately made better at home and in my opinion, when going to a restaurant to eat, it is expected that the food is better than could be...

Obviously picked the wrong time to visit as we couldn't get out of here fast enough, although £150 down for the experience.

Food was mediocre- the risotto for example was very poor and I felt was overpriced for a small portion of a relatively cheap dish. The fish served was incorrect and was sent back, but the waitress was adamant that it was correct and returned it, it was also missing the spinach! The chocolate mousse was still frozen and very bitter tasting. In general it was all bland and uninspiring.

The male member of staff (French or Italian possibly? )who initially took the drink order was very nice and helpful but the older female who took over was not!

Add to this the extreme noise levels coming from the surrounding tables, Christmas work parties? It was just unbearable and honestly we just couldn't wait to leave I'm afraid. We felt as though the whole experience was one of the most unpleasant dining experiences we've had and we weren't the only ones as other diners nearby were also complaining about the horrendous noise levels, where conversation was impossible. I feel we should have been warned that we would be sandwiched between two large groups and given the chance to rebook or move to another area. No apologies for the raucous noise was given, although the waiting staff themselves were obviously struggling also.

Shame, as the pub itself seems nice enough but I won't be in a hurry to return. This was supposed to be our small family Christmas get together and we travelled several hours to share dinner with family here, it was a waste of time and money and I wish we had...
