Had a very nice lunch here yesterday, we had the fish and chips which were excellent. Service was also very good, all served in a clean and pleasant atmosphere. One question we did not ask though was, is there a differing menu for dinner and lunch? Attempted to book again for early evening but they don’t serve food in the evenings it’s believed. Not sure why thats not made public. Been back twice since this initial review and excellent both times. Had Sunday lunch which was exactly as stated in the summary and also had another fish and chip lunch, and that was very good too.

Our first visit the The Ship, there were 4 adults and 2 children in our group. We were allocated a nice big table in the spacious restaurant area. The Sunday roast dinners were fantastic, well cooked meat, potatoes and vegetables topped off with a massive home made Yorkshire pudding. The kids meals were great, very good sized portions which they both really enjoyed. The dessert selection was a little limited but all very tasty. The team were friendly, cheerful and helpful, the service was efficient and attentive. All round this was a great experience. Well done!

Lovely meal last night at the Ship. Excellent food you could tell the quality of the ingredients was top notch so tasty. Easily one of if not the best food In the local area. Nice atmosphere and great friendly staff. Restaurant is nice and cosy not overcrowded, not at any time did we feel rushed to leave a great overall experience and will definitely be back soon. Keep up the great work

Held our birthday party here. Chose the ship because the ladies toilets are lovely and clean. We had the room at the back, lovely room but it was being used as a cut through for none party goers , land lord had said that a sign would state private party but it never appeared. We had a few teething problems at the start of the evening , mis communication concerning lay out. Even though we had a disco, main lights did not get turned of. In the end the landlord agreed that if we kept lamps on we could have main lights off, which was a bit better, we could then see the disco lights better. We wanted ventilation as the room as we became too hot, we opened the door, landlord advised us we could do this because of neighbours complaints. This is something to factor in if you hire the room in the hot months. A man appeared clearing glasses , he was very efficient but had a tramp like appearance and smell, this was rather unpleasant when he lent over you. The pub did let us have our own food delivered and supported us with this. The bar staff were very efficient, also polite, lovely young ladies. All in all though we had a...

Asked for wireless password and at first refused as we weren't regular patrons (well we have only just moved to area so are trying out pubs). However, having overheard that I did complain to the landlady and she was suddenly really, really helpful. Bar staff went out of her way and service was perfect. Food was absolutely excellent. Joanne is a food connoisseur and reviewer and exclaimed it was the best she had tasted. Ale was limited to Doombar BUT I can understand the logic with lockdowns etc and beer going off. So Yes I would go again and thank you for the...
