The trowel and hammer symbolize the rich history of Lowestoft, a town in Suffolk, England. The trowel represents its shipbuilding heritage, while the hammer symbolizes its association with the engineering and metalworking industries. These symbols reflect the town's past as a significant center for maritime trade and industrial activity."Exploring the rich history of Lowestoft through its emblematic symbols, the trowel and hammer, is a journey through time and craftsmanship. The trowel, emblematic of its shipbuilding legacy, speaks to the town's maritime prowess and the skilled hands that shaped its seafaring vessels. Meanwhile, the hammer, a testament to its engineering and metalworking industries, echoes with the clang of progress and innovation that resonated through Lowestoft's bustling streets. Together, these symbols encapsulate the heart and soul of a town steeped in tradition and industry, inviting visitors to delve deeper into its fascinating past."

Pub that takes dogs great! Until!!!! Got to pub on a Saturday at 1.30. Our friends were not there yet. Went to the bar to order drinks, both staff reacted as if I had the plague! Service was awful. We asked for menus when we were sat down. The woman was near them and pointed to them and said they were there. When I was a waitress I would have taken them to the customer. Our friends joined us and decided what to eat. There was sandwiches and jackets and Mains we wanted sandwiches and chips. I asked at the bar if they were still doing sandwiches. She said they stopped doing them at 1.45. It was 1.44! I assumed they started doing mains., nope no food at all! We were starving, there was ten of us. 10 minutes later they bring out a main meal for a customer! Why didn't the lady say they stopped doing food when we asked for menus. Such bad customer service! Great for dogs not for people! So discusted that we went to the Norman...

We normally visit the Jolly Sailors but decided to try this pub for a change, we will definitely be visiting here again, the service was superb, fast friendly and very welcoming, my husband had the home made steak and kidney pie he said it was very tasty with plenty of meat inside, I had the 1/2 chicken and ribs combo special, the chicken was cooked to perfection as was the ribs, the food is cooked on ordering but worth the wait, my coffee could have been a little hotter but it was served with a wonderful Biscotti almond biscuit this is a change from the usual Biscoff biscuit that everyone serves these days We returned for another visit a week ago and I have to say the mushroom stroganoff was absolutely disgusting I could not eat it but they did not charge me for it but sorry to say I will not be returning as its the second bad meal we...

Went for a nice meal out with the family. This is a really good place for a reasonably priced meal. They had a 50 per cent off menu, which included a number of meals, giving a good variety. This is similar to the Government EOTHO scheme in August. There were other food options available on another menu. The two members of staff who served us were very friendly and welcoming. We had booked and had a table reserved for us in the lower bar area. We easily managed to get parked in the smallish car park alongside the pub. The food was served quickly and was really tasty. This is a smaller pub, with a nice 'local' atmosphere. Would highly recommend.
