Absolutely gorgeous beach, I’m lucky enough to live within 5 mins drive of the beach, there is a small car park at the bottom of clifftonville road, just off the bend, down a short stoney track, steps to access the beach, then walk to the beach from there, if you walk along the beach to the right of you, you can walk to kessingland , seaglass can be found, and I even found a part of Roman grey ware pottery 🙂👍🏻. Lots of dogs ok if you are a dog lover, but if you’re not, then not so great, lots of dogs off leads and some are quite uncontrollable! Blame the owner not the dog! Lovey sunrises if you check the sunrise times, also it’s a very good idea to check the tide times, as the sea can sometimes hit the cliff base, beware of the cliffs, lots of cliff erosion and cliffs falling down, nice relaxing walk if not busy with dogs! Pakefield church is lovely to. Jolly sailors pub is on the cliff top, and there is also the trowel and hammer pub in Pakefield street, also a lovely place, called tea by the sea, if you fancy a nice cuppa...

Lovely peaceful basic beach, nice that dogs can explore here, seems a bit of a dog poopy beach tho, not sure how I feel about my baby playing on the sand? Think I will head towards Southwold or find other family beaches for baby to enjoy when weather is warmer! I’m still quite new to the area so don’t know many. Jolly sailor restaurant is good here and only place you can eat at it seems at the moment. There’s a tea house but that’s order and collect only. Parking is cheap here I am told. I didn’t drive/pay but those that did said it was good! Oh cute beach houses also. Didn’t use toilets by they are there and saw a tap for water by them too. Not any beach shops which is a shame but don’t think it’s that kind of beach.. would be good...

Food and staff excellent, unfortunately my mother who was celebrating her 96th BIRTHDAY fell on the steps on the entrance as there NO hand rail, hurt her foot and banged her head luckily she was not to seriously injured, the staff were excellent and said that they had told manager that a rail was needed, several days later I personally saw the owner and told him what happened, although he asked if mother OK he didn't seem to concerned about putting a rail in so members of the public can hold on to when entering and exiting the establishment, there is NO disabled across to the...

Pakefield Beach is a charming destination, although it does give off a rather basic vibe, almost like a place more suited for a dog walk than a leisurely beach visit. While the landscape is undoubtedly beautiful, I did find it difficult to fully enjoy sitting on the pebbles due to the presence of numerous spiders and insects. It's worth noting that there is no beach shop available, but thankfully, public toilets are provided for visitors' convenience. Despite the lack of certain amenities, the overall natural beauty of the beach makes it a worthwhile spot to explore and appreciate.

Having researched Dog Friendly beaches near our base camp, we settled for Pakefield. A lovely beach with plenty of parking, mix of sand and shingle. We wandered along to the Dean's Beans coffee hut and had lovely service. Nearby is a small playground for the kids but area lacking in toilets so we chose an 11.30 pint at the OddFellows pub just off the sea front to use the facilities. After a 7hour trip from Somerset, this was just the laid back morning we needed!
