Unfortunately lots of the machines aren't working here, including the self-service ordering terminal, coffee machine, and the menu TVs don't cycle like they should - so the breakfast menu and kids menus are a mystery until you get to the till. When you do get to the till, the true menu appears - a scrap piece of paper with a handwritten list of items they have left (half an hour after opening). Even when ordering a full English, we're weren't told that bacon (on the shop shelves metres away) had run out, so we had a disappointment when the food arrived. For a cafe inside a supermarket, I can't understand how this cafe is so unsupported. The staff are clearly unhappy with how poor the offer is and although polite, couldn't manage a smile at any point. When queuing, both the group in front of me and behind me left without ordering anything - 6 covers the cafe missed out on due to these issues. The food was fine - not brilliant but just fine. To top it off, there was a pigeon flying about the area next to the cafe, with staff ignoring it to go about their other duties. Not the most hygienic situation and clearly not a priority...

No hint of apology, no sign put up to prepare you for this lack of menu. I had a teacake. Woman behind the counter asked,'Do you want it toasted?' I mean, come on, does anybody not want a teacake toasted? I said yes, please, and she looked at me as if I'd asked her to split the atom. Read moreAt the end of the day, it's a basic, mid to lower-range, in-store café offering a choice of snacks, meals and hot and cold drinks. OK it's never going to win any awards, but the biggest problem is the painfully slow queues both for your meal and self service drinks... disruptive children are an added bonus...as generally it seems to be a grandparents job to be in charge?
