Hatch Cafe — Restaurant in Eastleigh

Have been going to the hatch cafe on a monday and thursday for the last few weeks for our lunch break from work and the staff have been very friendly and helpful. The prices are good and we enjoy our coffee and the environment. However, decided on the off chance to go in on a wednesday and noticed it wasnt the usual girls working. Unfortunately, our experience this day was not so nice. The staff were very frosty and less welcoming than our previous experiences. Unfortunately this showed as we were the only ones in the cafe at the time on the wednesday and normally we struggle to find a seat. Coffee and cake. Chose a lovely looking Victoria sandwich cake pre cut into generous slices under a cloch. Ordered two. Lovely service arrived promptly but the normal sized generous precursors slice had been cut into two thin slices. Not value for the money. Disappointingly small. Not as advertised. Not cool. After many years of having nowhere to get a coffee and something to eat in West End, the Hatch Cafe provides the solution. The welcome is friendly the coffee and food excellent and the atmosphere extremely pleasant.
