Totally amazing and fantastic menu especially for a very fussy vegan/vegetarian like me!!! Amazing choice of food on the menu (which I never get !)and I opted for the fishless vegetarian fillets! Two arrived along with chips and garden peas! The battered fishless fillets were hot tasty and the chips were crispy and not greasy at all xxx I’ve haven’t ever enjoyed such a meal ever. I cleared my plate ❤️x Then I opted for apple crumble with custard xx this was hot beautifully crumbly and the apple was gorgeous and again I cleared my plate xx I went along at lunchtime with two non veggie friends and again they cleared their plates. We all agreed it was the best food and the best choices we’ve ever had x We are meeting up again at Christmas time and this will be our choice of venue! I shall be taking all my family to eat there in a couple of weeks as I know they will love it too! The venue has an amazing garden that looks very inviting although we ate inside yesterday. Perfect venue to take the whole family. Staff were very welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them xx it was a totally amazing experience...
Read moreWe booked a table online 30 mins before arrival, a young gent explained what the pub had done for social distancing etc and showed us to our table (very reassuring). We decided to give the app a go with the ordering, not the best app in the world but we managed it fine and we got what we ordered so that was good too.
Staff seemed very pleasant and food was good value and tasted good. The biggest let down was some of the other customers who either didn't see the need to socially distance or couldn't read! Eg. The pub had taken the time to do a one in one out system on loos but it was just being ignored.
The loos could do with a refurb as well - gents hot water not working and tap was very loose (as I told my 4 yr old - its important to wash your hands with hot water and soap after using the loo!) If I am being picky in my old age I'd also say the music was a tad loud..! ;-)
The pub served its purpose, we needed somewhere for a meal and drink before continuing our journey and did exactly that. An OK experience as per the...
Read moreA typical, busy, noisy, sports pub. Popped down for a meal early Saturday evening and the pub was fairly packed with many people watching football on the multiple large sceens (and very large projector screen). Pleasant atmosphere despite being noisy. Food was cheap (2 meals for £9.49) but good and excellent value. Beer range is restricted to Greene KIng standards and one guest, in this case Belhaven which was amazingly cheap at £3.10 per pint and in absolutely tip-top condition. excellent!!
Why only 3 stars - well after the football finished the TV's were left on showing The Voice but sound was replaced with music from the sound system at a very loud volume. OK, it doesn't help that I'm not a huge fan of contemporary rap but that volume was waaaaay too much. We left without finishing our drinks (and given the fact the beer was so good that really does say something about the club rather than pub level of the music)
I will return and if last Saturday's volume was a one-off then the pub will certainly...
