Birthday celebrations! Cappuccino’s warm at best on the first round ! The gammon just edible but very sweet, the eggs were overdone but sent back and came back out nicely done. I have to say tho the gammon egg and chips wasn’t worth the price tag there was nothing to it ! Literally just a Handful of chips and the eggs!truthfully we mostly all gave it 5 out of ten! The nut roast was a joke literally the smallest piece of nut roast ever. All of the mains served were basically warm apart from the second lot of eggs and the fish and chips which were apparently ok. We were a table of ten and had visited before but we won’t be going back. It’s extremely expensive and most of the dishes were bland and warm. My friends mother didn’t rate the roast chicken at all and gave it a 3/10. Most main meals were £21 each or more so should have been absolutely perfect! There wasn’t any type of vibe in the pub worth mentioning, so all in all not a great experience unfortunately. The staff were nice tho and helpful with the cakes we supplied which were extremely nice.

Wheelchair friendly. Lovely restaurant, we had fish and chips and asparagus as a starter. Mushy peas was a surprise and was very tasty, I've never eaten anything like that before, so my taste buds were partying. Waitress and waiters very attentive and were looking after us amazing. Also cleared for me the way to disabled toilet. It was a bit jammed on the way with spare table on the way, luckily noone sat there, but manageable apart from missing emergency red cord. Also thank you for opening the easy access door. The cord wasn't needed this time, but you never know who would be in need and in case of fall. I liked the touch of artificial flowers on the floor but for me it wasn't necessary to be two of them. May management have a look into this and maybe I would suggest to hang the baskets on the walls if that's possible so wheelchair users might get more space even to reverse or turn around or leave footrest when in need to take them out? Definitely worth coming back and very clean and organized service.

Possibly the best fish and chips I've ever had!! When by the sea, I try to eat fish and chips, the Bugle has the best fish and chips I've ever had. No exaggeration!! The batter was so crispy it crackled as it was cut and the fish was lovely and flaky. Not greasy, absolutely perfect. Chips were super fluffy and the tartar sauce was a delight. The lemon was lightly charred which gave it a nice twist. My 4 year old at like a boy possessed which is high praise indeed. How he had space for ice cream afterwards I'll never know but he loved his meal. Staff were very welcoming with lots of smiles and our food was with us in no time at all. Reasonably priced, not cheap but not eye watering either. I'm so often disappointed in fish and chips by the sea where it should be top notch; the Bugle knows fish and chips. There is absolutely no shortage of pubs on the road, I would have no problem going back to the Bugle. A big pat on the back to the staff, they're doing the establishment proud.

Nice pub and the food was good but our two recent experiences were ruined by the staff.

We visited a few months ago with our dogs, it's great that the pub is dog friendly but we had to ask a couple of the staff members to leave us to enjoy our evening because they were constantly coming over to pet and feed our dogs, one girl in particular didn't seem to appreciate that we didnt want her to do this and as a result we actually left the pub instead of staying for a meal. I wrote to complain to the manager and they said this would be addressed.

Upon returning to the pub recently we sat down inside and have to confess to being a bit disappointed when we saw the same waitress working after we'd ordered, she came over to pet the dogs and spoke to them in a silly high pitched voice for quite some time, ignoring us but interrupting us none the less. I asked her to stop and she walked away. We then decided that as we'd ordered we would stay but that we'd move outside so this girl couldn't bother us whilst we ate. However within 5 minutes she was outside bringing more dog treats with her. I asked her not to feed the dogs and for her to allow us to enjoy our meal peacefully, this time she was a little more defensive in her response but did go. Whilst we were eating she came back again, so I asked her if I could speak to a manager, she told me that there was no manager working and that she hadn't been doing anything wrong I asked for her name and she refused to tell me. A young lady then walked up the steps at the outside of the pub and the two started chatting just away from the end of our table but close enough that we could hear the conversation, it lasted for 10 minutes or so, enough time for us to finish our meal. part of the conversation between these girls was a rather graphic description of the sexual relationship that the waitress was having with another member of staff, I really don't think that this acceptable, particularly given that there were children around the pub. We dont know the staff and couldn't tell you who the other staff member was but the conversation suggested that he held a more senior role than her which probably explains why nothing was done about my previous complaint.

Needless to say, we won't be visiting again. Being dog friendly is great but for us they were too friendly (to the dogs) and we found it rather disruptive to what would otherwise have been two...

Went there with friends on 5th December for lunch. When booking we were told they had a big party in and couldn't accommodate us until 1.45. Arrived early and place was virtually empty and no sign of other diners which implied they hadn't been busy at all! Waiter spilled a whole glass of red wine over my wife's top, jumper and skirt and some splashed on my friend as well. Waiter apologised and said, "I'll get you another glass" then, on return, said "we won't charge you for this"!!!! He made no attempt to clean up the table or floor and didn't even give my wife a towel or something to try and dry herself. They offered to get the items cleaned while we ate but, what did they expect her to wear while this was being done? Food was expensive and of below average standard. My starter of prawn cocktail came without bread and butter and without anything to eat it with. My 'mixed meat pie' was just braised beef with a few vegetables in a pie pot with no gravy added and a loose pastry topping which was just put on top of the pot - upside down even! Two of our party had fish and chips and the tartar sauce tasted odd and was very salty. The other had Hake but it was a very small portion of fish for £14. Had to suggest to them that (in view of the incident with the wine) the least they should do was not charge for my wife's meal They didn't charge for her main course but did charge for her dessert. All in all, not at...

Tremendous as Craig Cash's alter ego would say. Staff very friendly and helpful, but not over pushy. We only stopped for a swift half but stayed for tea, sorry supper (forgot int posh bit of the south now). The outside seating is very pleaseant. BUY BUT BUT the food is "reet grand" as we say back home. It is a couple of quid more than your average pub but I can honestly say probally the best food I've had for several months and the beer was well kept too. We had (can't show you a photo because we had devoured it before I remembered to take one,) burger, children's fish and chips, pork medallions and a steak from the specials plus a couple of drinks each. Bill came to just over the ton (has that phrase gone metric yet (tonne), suppose it should as we've been decimal for 50 years now, but as usual I digress), which we thought was good value for money, especially for me as our lass was paying. 3 of the courses came with chips/fries, but in attention to detail they were all different (chips for f&c and two types of fries for the burger/ steak). I'm not a fan of asparagus, but mine was cooked "Bob on" and I finished the lot. Didn't have time or room for spice but they looked good ont menu. In summary well worth a visit, but not on a day when we want to go as we only got the last table and wouldn't want to be...
