We arrived 15minutes early and were seated straight away. Within 30 seconds after sitting down, we were asked for our drink orders. So we asked for a few minutes to read the drinks menu, to which the waitress' gave us a very judgemental look. We then weren't spoken to for 20minutes. Once the waiter realized we didn't have drinks, he then asked us 'Iassume you don't want any drinks?'. We cleared up this confusion and later got our drinks, to then wait another 25minutes for someone to ask for our food orders. Instead of managing the customers expectations and advising what was not available, they waited for us to ask for food, to then tell us they didn't have any (of what we ordered). The food came and was absolutely remarkable, hats off to the chef 🤌🏻 Yorkshires were incredible. Mid-way through our dinner however, one of the chairs was ripped away by one of the staff members for another table. But without any courtesy to ask if we were using it or to check if any of our things were on the chair. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Once the dishes were cleared, we yet again waited an extortionate amount of time to be able to order dessert. But to top it all off, they allowed us to order desserts and wait 45minutes for a crumble and some sorbet. To which the crumble was out of stock (they later told us this after asking where our desserts were) and they brought out a completely different sorbet to what we had ordered. The organization was abysmal, the service was sub-par at best with the rather judgemental conversations and the only people who seemed to know what they were doing, were the chef and who seemed to be the land-lady that came over to apologize for our experience at the end of the meal. Please manage your customers expectations asap and please have the manners and courtesy to know when your customers aren't enjoying their visit. No awareness of...

Will not come here again!! We tried to get a drink here and asked politely if we could just have a drink. The server, a very young boy told us very rudely “No” and almost physically shoved us out and didn’t give us a reason why: I felt quite annoyed at this as we are quite regular at this pub so went round the back door and spoke to another guy who very politely said it was busy and that it was reservations only, which we were fine with as he was polite and told us why we couldn’t get a drink….so we left and went on our way to the Victory. The server from before saw us and came up behind us and slammed the door behind us as we left through the back door. He was clearly in a bad mood and should not be working in a customer facing job if he can’t cope with a bit of heat and being busy. We are sat in the Victory now having a nice drink chatting with people at the bar who have had or have heard people have very similar experiences there. Shame as we have always had nice food and were going to book a table for a 60th birthday whilst we were in there for August but have booked...

Went in to the pub for a drink after a few hours sail, hoping to get a couple of drinks. To start the bad experience we weren’t allowed to go to the bar to order, we had to be seated and couldn’t look at what drinks were at the bar. My mate was talking to me about getting a Guinness, this turned up before we had actually ordered. I eventually got a drinks menu, and decided to have a stowfords red berries, how you can mess up a cider so much I have no idea. It took them about 5mins to pour it, and it was so bad and acidic that I now feel sick. I couldn’t finish it with the acidic taste. When it came to the bill the Guinness cost over £7 and I had to insist I wasn’t paying for the cider that was undrinkable.

The atmosphere was very uncomfortable and the staff obviously didn’t want to be there and were very blunt. I’d like to review the service but for a pub that is table service only I wouldn’t say there was any as I had to stop a member of staff to actually get my drink. Once we had paid we quickly left as the staff made the experience so uncomfortable. I would...

Several times we have walked past the King and Queen pub with every intention of having a meal in there. Yesterday was the day. Was happy with the seating outside, the staff were friendly and quickly took our order. I chose the Sunday roast pork, my Wife the haddock and chips with mushy peas. The meals arrived in good time. However, this is where the good experience ends. The roast potatoes were very well done on the cusp of being burnt. The pork was so so, certainly nothing to boast about. And the vegetables not really any better (I had to ask for the vegetables as they weren't brought out with my meat dish)!! The only thing I will say is the crackling was very nice but for nearly £17 I was very disappointed. My Wife's haddock was tasteless and oily, and she did say for less cost she's had a better fish and chips. We were very surprised to see they'd added on a service fee, which we did pay but incredibly reluctantly. Our first and last visit. Never again

2nd time after a lot of years, can say that I m very happy and pleasantly surprised from the decoration, so cozy, so warm and traditional elements all over the place add to the old time classic, rustic atmosphere. Absolutely loved it. What to say about the food, tried the tuna melt toasted sandwich and the chicken pesto with a small bucket of fries and it was tasty, delicious, full of flavour the pesto was freshly made the cheese was melted enough to feel the smoothness and the bread slices cut from a loaf were crunchy. Bit of salad by the side tomato, cucumber and green leaves. Highly recommend. And the walk down the morrow streets reminded me of a walk in a small island . Well done

Have been here many times in the past but not for a while. Came for a drink to meet up with a friend. Always a nice chilled vibe here. Nice ambience. Seating inside or outside. Inside tends to be nice and cozy. The toilet is located downstairs. There is a little area to sit down a level at the back of the pub too. Parking is down in the main village car park. Friendly staff who are very attentive and helpful. Do like a visit here. Been too long!
