I’m really confused by this place! Seems like they’re going through some kind of change and we felt a bit mislead!
Based on all the reviews here it looked lovely - apres ski theme, charcuterie, steak, smash burgers etc.. only when we arrived the menu was nothing like what was suggested here on the reviews (or their own website). It was a really weird mix of Indian starters, Mexican style sizzle plates and burgers.
Fine OK, not what we booked for but we went with it. Nachos came out.. they were a pathetic plate of tortilla chips with hardly any cheese and no other toppings. Bare in mind this was a ‘sharing’ plate, the only sauce they came with was a tiny shot glass of salsa, horrible pre-made guacamole and sour cream. Shot glasses so tiny you couldn’t even fit a nacho in there to dip it? And we were expected to share these between us?!
Then we get to the mains. The burgers were tiny and had no toppings or salad on. Just burger, cheese and a bit of raw onion. Not really reflecting the description on the menu. Salsa inside was the same from the shot glass before.
Then we have the sizzler plates. Same tiny shot glasses and same sauces again! Tasted fresh from the Tesco picnic aisle. Steak was overcooked and everything was flooded in oil. So everything seemed to be made from the same limited ingredients and nothing like the reviews are saying about great food and the pictures don’t at all match what we were given.
Thoroughly disappointed! Don’t bother. Felt a bit like a slightly better presented version of...
Read moreExcellent! We booked a table because we've been in before and they'd had no space, but it was quiet (it was Sunday night after all) so we needn't have worried. Service was great, all the staff were helpful and friendly. Talking food and drink - both were fantastic! As well as the usual (extensive) drinks menu, they have a book full of "runs" which are selected combinations of 3 types of wine/bubbles/whiskey/gin on a theme, they're a great way to try some different drinks without having to fork out for a whole glass of something you might not like. I think they're fun, my wife and I started off with a flight each :-) The food is fabulous as well, loads of choice - if you like a platter of cheese and cold meats - and very fresh and super tasty. My wife is gluten free and she said the GF bread was the best she'd tasted. We went for a Rockies Board and two sides and tbh it was more than we really needed...! We spent ages chatting and chomping and drinking but the bill wasn't too eyewatering considering we'd had a great evening. Just lovely, we'll definitely...
Read moreWe came to this restaurant on a whim as we wanted something different before seeing a movie nearby. The staff were wonderful, very friendly and attentive.
The decor is lovely and the whole place has a nice ambience.
We had calamari and garlic bread for starters which were both delicious and fresh. I don’t usually like calamari but my partner loves it and we both enjoyed it! I had a beef sizzler for main which was good. The beef burger my partner had was really the star of the show. I was very jealous! It was juicy, fresh and really flavourful. Burgers are often hit or miss and this was definitely a hit. I’m keen to go back soon to have a whole burger to myself.
My only teeny tiny request would be a proper dessert menu! I love sweets and I feel as though the chefs could do something really good seeing as the savoury food was...
