Fego Restaurant Cobham — Restaurant in Elmbridge

I've been to Fego many times before. I like that it offers a bit more than the traditional brunch options. As a coeliac I struggle to eat out due to restricted menu options and difficulty with cross contamination in the kitchen. I didn't have such a good experience on this occasion. I asked the waitress about the various gluten free options because I couldn't understand the labeling on the menu. How avocado toast could be GFA but not scrambled eggs. I also enquired about the Ranchero as it wasn't labeled as gluten free but I was confident I'd ordered it before. She kindly checked with the kitchen and confirmed the Ranchero was gluten free, the kitchen would just avoid putting the crispy onions on. I placed my order, received a lovely cappuccino and awaited my meal. Unfortunately, my breakfast came with the onions on top. I questioned the waitress who first denied their being onions but then took a second look and agreed with me. She took the dish away and the kitchen quickly whipped me up a new dish. I’m a regular at Fego Cobham and every visit is consistently excellent. I want to give a special mention to Gavin and Bobi, who always look after me whenever I come in. They’re both incredibly welcoming, helpful and friendly which makes the whole experience even better.

I popped in today for my usual full English breakfast (always spot on!) and while sitting there, I realised just how many times I’ve been here and how good it is every single time — not just the food, but the service too.

Working in sales myself, I’ve always believed people don’t just buy products they buy people. At Fego, you’re not only getting delicious food but also genuine, top quality service with a smile. Gavin and Bobi are always happy to chat and make you feel welcome and it’s clear the team here really care about their customers.

Would not recommend, poor service. Came today for some breakfast, after me and my other half were seated, no one came to us after 20 minutes. The people that came after us were already getting their drinks and food, yet we haven’t even been given a menu. Had to look up the menu online, once we’ve caught a waiters attention, they did not seem bothered at all. After ordering the food, we got the starter which was as dead as anything. Got the full English breakfast and that was absolutely horrible, the bacon was raw and had no colour to it, the hash browns looked like spongebob, all of the food was cold and the only thing that was warm were the beans.
