The most disappointing experience I have had at a dinner, first time I have ever been at a tapas bar, and I must say I've never been so disrespected by the two male waiters working. (19:00 till we left at 20:10), I went with my partner, and her family to enjoy a lovely Sunday dinner, we originally requested a table outside which was "proclaimed" they don't have. When I noted there is one free in the corner, they did there "best" effort to clean (which was still a dirty table from the previous customers) none the less we took a seat. 5 of us with the drinks we took from the bar by the nice waiter female. I have never been at a tapas bar and my partner and I were very confused by the menus. When requested by the waiter for some information, we was confronted by confusion and no effort to give us any assurance to what would be recommended,
Once orders was made they came out in the most unprofessional manner, first plate was declared a "A Plain Steak" which was then slammed on the table, when we asked what steak it was, the waiter mentioned it was only one when there was two steaks, all the other plates when arrived was also just slapped on the table as though we was a total inconvience to them that we are customers who came to there restaurant, most of the other tables around us appeared to be drinking and not eating.
Once all the main meals had been served, not once did either of the male waiters come to ask how the meal was, we had requested two drinks as the meals were being served which never arrived.... after such a poor service I took it to go and request my own bill as again the waiters are no we're to be seen, I went to the reception with the mother in law, and we requested to take the service charge off after explaining our disappointment at the lack of service to the waitress she understood, and took the service charge off, and offered us our original drinks for free. My mother in law did request a red wine.
We took the drinks back to the table to sit and enjoy of what we could, until the male waiters came and started demanding why we took the service charge of , to our shock we again tried to explain and he started to shout this is my wages, I work for this how dare you take of a service charge. We said we do not like to be confronted with such manner when we tried to explain he started to murmur in his own language and stormed off. We were so embarrassed that we left prior to finishing our drinks.
Over all my experience is 0/10 and would not recommend, the food is below par for such an expensive menu. Everything felt so rushed and I would not return nor would I recommend any one who would like to take there family to this tapas bar.....
I sincerely hope the owner do review this and do take pride in there restaurant as there...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant for our anniversary, and unfortunately, it turned into a huge disappointment from start to finish.
Service: A few of the waiters were friendly, but one in particular came across as extremely rude, with an attitude that made it obvious she didn’t want to be there. It really set a bad tone for the evening.
Starters: We had the prawns pil pil and shell-on prawns, which were decent but nothing special. The garlic bread, however, tasted like a cheap, ready-made one from Lidl — bland.
Mains: I ordered a T-bone steak, and my partner had a fillet steak. My steak was so tough it was impossible to cut, and to make matters worse, I was given the bluntest steak knife imaginable. I asked for a replacement and was given… a butter knife. It would have been funny if it wasn’t so frustrating. My partner’s steak wasn’t any better — rough cuts of meat with poor quality.
A waiter eventually replaced my steak with a plain fillet, but it was just as tough as the first one. By this point, my partner had been waiting 25 minutes for me to start eating, so I didn’t bother asking for another replacement.
The spinach side was awful — literally sitting in water.
Drinks: The sangria was shockingly bad: red wine mixed with Fanta.
Overall: Even one of the waiters admitted the cutlery was terrible. The whole experience screamed “cheap” — from the low-quality produce to the poor drinks, bad cutlery, dated décor, and a miserable waitress. This place is a perfect example of a restaurant that doesn’t invest in itself or care about improving.
Verdict: Avoid...
Read moreMost of the food was great however the portions were small, we only got 1 portion of potatoes and vegetables which wasn't enough for 2. We then asked for another plate and had to wait another 20 minutes for it and the waiter wasnt happy about bringing it and was quite rude. The steak was nice but pricey and It was not good value for money as was very expensive, also the vegetables had no taste or seasoning to them.
When given the bill we were charged a £10 graduity charge, which for 2 people we thought was too much money. When we questioned the waiter about it he was adament that we paid and wasn't taking no for an answer. When I told him I wasn't paying it he made me write down on the reciept why I wouldnt pay it. Once I paid the bill he slammed the reciept on the table and walked off, as we were leaving none of the staff said goodbye and gave us the cold shoulder.
I would recommend coming here for food, but in regards to the terrible service I would not recommend coming here for dinner, in my opinion some of the staff need some serious customer service trianing, although some staff had a good level of customer service but were let down by the others. Also the kitchen needs a rethink of value for money on food, as well as some dishes needing more seasoning (vegetables), although some food such as the steak were tasty and the potatoes. It is a shame as the service from some of the staff does not make this restaurant worth going back to, although not all staff were to blame. Also a fair warning, be prepared for a very high service charge even...
