Lived in Ovington for 8 years, always been meaning to pop in for a pint. I heard that it was kid friendly with a swing and a slide in the garden so one gloriously nice night, I had the idea to take the wife and boys along as I was in the mood for a real ale. Confidentially walked past the big "craft ales served here" sign on the way and and when I asked the bar tender what ales I can chose from, I was met with "we don't have any". Sat in the garden with my pint of water (I came for a real ale) until the boys' boredom caught up with mine. A complete waste of time, a complete disappointment. Also, what's with the grubby looking shoes in the corner next to the swing? Looks like they've been there for weeks. Place was dead, only the staff kicking around. 8pm, couldn't help but feel we were keeping them there as they closed the beer garden and turned off the lights inside as we were sitting down.

First time eating here and not disappointed! Arrived at car park at around 7pm, plenty of spaces but it is a private pay to park space, you can validate your parking inside the pub however! There were plenty of tables available and there was a nice overall feel to the place. The menu was a fairly standard pub style selection but they did have specials on too. The food however wasn't standard and was both well presented and tasty with good sized portions. Served up by a very friendly and accommodating barman/(manager perhaps) in a timely fashion. He was clearly busy as the only person behind the bar but he paid us good attention throughout our meal. My wife and I had a starter, main and desert and every course was delicious! Will certainly eat here again!

Gorgeous Sunday lunch as always. Great staff and service too, nothings a problem to them. Generous portions and fantastic choice if you dont want a roast but I'd highly recommend them. 😋😋 Dog friendly which is always a bonus. Dont visit without trying the salted caramel icecream cheesecake its devine!!

Not the best. Ive been here a a few times and its always been sub par. My most recent visit solidifies my thoughts not to return again. Most recently i went for a Sunday lunch with three other people. The food was served on scalding plates, clearly just taken out the microwave, the food came in drips and drabs served by one person. Two of us got our main plates consisting of one thin slice of beef and a chicken breast cut in half unevenly and half placed on each plate. This was followed by two more main plates for the other two people i was sat with. Then came three veg plates, again scalding and under portioned, we asked about the fourth veg and the waiter replied "yeah its coming, i cant fit four veg in the microwave at once" !!! Brilliant. The drinks were flat, soft drinks and lager. Pool table is terrible, and every other drinks table inside is sticky like a student nightclub. The lighting above the pool table has exposed live and neutral wires bastardised around a flimsy chain being used to hold the light up. None of the bandits work. The bar staff are extremely arrogant and look miserable. These are just my opinions, see for yourself but its a 1...
