Have been here many times and enjoyed good food and service but had to leave a review today after a fantastic Father's Day lunch. We had a table for four adults, one child and one in a high chair. Our drinks order was taken and fulfilled quickly, followed soon after by food order and arrival. The food was exactly what everyone wanted and one of our party who had traveled from 150miles away said it was the best Sunday lunch he'd had in years. The kids both ate really well too. The service was absolutely brilliant, answering any questions we had, bringing extra gravy and plate for the kids, all with a smile when they were busy. We all agreed the next time we were together up here on a Sunday we would be booking a table. It was lovely to not have to try and make one meal to suit the many different needs of our party, just turn up, enjoy and leave. The good weather meant we even got out into the garden after our meal for the kids to have a play while we finished our drinks. Great experience. We had 1 roast lamb, 1 pork, 1 beef, 1 turkey, 1 kids jumbo fish fingers and chips and an extra chips followed by 1 hot chocolate sponge with ice cream, 1 Eton mess, 1 apple pie with custard and the included in meal kids ice cream, vanilla, 3 non alcoholic beers, 1 pint of coke, 2 spirit & mixers, 2 fruit shoots...
Read moreUpdated review The last time I visited I didn’t have a great experience and as such left a poor and honest review. However I had heard good things from friends so I gave it a second try 10 months on. So fair is fair, it is only right I update my review. This time the food was nicely presented and very good. (Almost night and day from my last visit). The burger came with a nice side salad and fries. The fish and chips came with home made Chucky chips and generous portions. Based on my last visit I would recommend this place.

Bit of a disaster tonight. Came for a family meal and chose from the specials board. It was initially served with wraps until I pointed out it was advertised with rice. When the rice did come it was awful… and I mean inedible. It was more like mashed potato. My order was then kindly changed to a cheese burger and fries. The chips were not cooked through and raw and the bun was solid (as if it hadn’t quite been defrosted properly) I am surprised as I saw other burgers coming out of the kitchen with side salads and all nicely presented. Can only think that the kitchen was overstretched… on a positive the servers were very...

It’s fine as in the portions are generous, and the food is tasty and this may become what people understand to be fine as the cost of living crisis tightens its grip.
A warm welcome, we didn’t book, inside wasn’t that busy, but the beer garden appeared to be so.
We shared nachos to start, be warned, there are plenty of nachos to go around, nothing held back, really good!
Pizzas to follow, spinach and blue cheese for Denise, Tuna for me, with capers and anchovies. When ordering similar elsewhere, I’ve often found myself asking where the capers and anchovies might be, no doubt about their presence on this pizza, heaven, assuming you love capers and anchovies of course.
Half the pizzas came home with us, boxes may be requested, ours wasn’t the only box being carried out and yes, as delicious now as they were then.
It’s quality at more than a fair price, and even if the prices increase which I suspect they will, this will still be the case.
Look no further if you fancy a nice meal out which won’t...
