We visited today at 2.40. I tried to order a toastie only to be told the machine was cold and they was only serving whatever was in the display cabinet on the counter. I ordered a cheese scone for my husband and a cappuccino. I was going to have a cup of tea until I seen his being made in a takeaway cup. I decided to have just a fruit scone. When we sat down I noticed another person had been served his drink in a china mug also the person who came in after us. I found my scone to be very dry. My husband said his was ok but not sure if that was because his was warmed in the microwave so the butter would of melted in. I did ask on the way out why ours was served in a takeaway cup. She replied they're short of staff. I pointed out that people before and after us had been served with china mugs. They had four staff working and only three tables being used so it wasn't very busy. They are open until 4pm so would of expected hot food to still...

Buildings looks better in photos, definitely more like a cafeteria than cosy cabin, sticky tables and floors but at least it was dog friendly! Food was awful, egg was over done and crispy. Overloaded with sausage and item was missing. The sausages were massive. Way too much for a sandwich, quality was like rubber, probably why they give out more, definitely a quantity over quality. Coffee was trash! Everything is just cheap. If they bought quality produce and made the portion sizes smaller then they might be able to compete with the others cafes in the area. But for the price and quality of the food and drink you are better off travelling to one of the better ones...

The coffee here is so bad, every time and on so many levels. They've got the quality coffee machine, they've got the "quality" prices but they don't deliver quality coffee.

The sad thing is that it comes down to execution, the girls working the coffee machine are not baristas, in fact I'd be willing to bet that they've simply been shown how to use the coffee machine by someone equally as incompetent.

Twice I've ordered a latté on 2 different visits and twice I've been given something I don't want to finish. Milk is ludicrously over stretched, coffee shot is under extracted and the portion (cup...

Lovely find . It’s for walkers and cyclists so the floor is understandably a bit muddy ! The decor is nice and cosy . I had an amazing cheese and onion scone with generous amount of butter supplied . I do agree with some of the reviews that the tables could be wiped down but I arrived at a very busy time

It is what it is. I read some of the reviews where folk complained it was a bit outdoor ISH and the floor wasn't very clean, breaking news, it's predominantly walkers, dog walkers and cyclists. Proper home made on the premises food, coffee was good and it's got a lovely spot right next to the bridge.

Excellent day out. Walk or bike ride along the river. Welcome break at the riverside park. Toilet facilities there. car park also disabled facilities. There is a cafe there but due to flooding closed at the moment. Go and have a look for yourselves. There is also a defibrillator there. If needed.
