What a total gem. We are visiting family for the week and came to Minehead Eye for the first time with our two children for the Nerf Fun session. Our eldest has additional needs and is usually against trying new things so I was nervous when he said he wanted a go. I spoke with the team- Simon and Izzy before the session and they were so accommodating and understanding. They made time to answer all his questions and made sure I could stay for the session to support my son if needed. They were so supportive to my son throughout the session and so knowledgable of autism and potential issues we may come up against with the rules etc. They helped him find the right gun, he has dyspraxia so many guns are hard for him to use, Simon checked in with us both throughout and my son was able to join in and loved every minute of the session. My son finds things like this so hard to access normally so this was such a wonderful moment for him and for our family. Where we live we don’t have such a centre, only leisure centres where most staff have no knowledge of SEN or how to support or connect with kids like my son. I can’t stress enough what a great service this is. I hope minehead knows how lucky it is! A truly inclusive youth activity centre is a rare thing indeed. Thanks so much, we’ll be back next time...
Read moreThe team at Minehead Eye hosted our girls 10th and 8th birthday party this weekend, and I CANNOT recommend them enough! We booked a private skate party for two hours for 16 kids ranging in age from 7yrs to 10yrs. I did question my decision when we turned up and there were 16 very excited children (who mostly have not skated before) raring to go! 😅 But the three team members there with us were amazing! They told the kids what to do, kitted them up with gear and stayed for the whole two hours helping me and my husband look after them all. They are knowledgeable, polite, very approachable and actually enjoyed interacting with the children. The kids skated and scooted for an hour then we were taken upstairs to have lunch (pizza, sandwiches, fruit and veg, plenty for all and delicious! ), then back downstairs to enjoy the remaining time we had left. There is even a climbing wall and pool table for the kids to try out. I've never done a party for the girls but I am so glad we did it, it was even fun for us too! Honestly a 5 star experience and the feedback from all the kids was amazing, they LOVED it! We have also been to a couple of roller discos and had an absolute ball, love...
Read moreBooked in for the Wednesday morning soft play for my two grandsons.
The centre is impressive, staff were very upbeat and friendly, very well informed and informative.
Soft play was well laid out with soft play mats, toys, bouncy castles, slides and a sort of sensory area. The boys loved every minute.
It has a nice community feel to it and while the kids play you have soft drinks, instant and fresh coffee available from the cafe counter as well as snacks too.
If you are looking for something for your toddlers to do on a Wednesday morning in Minehead that is great value,...
