Baloo Northampton — Restaurant in England

We ordered Fish Tika, Vegetable Madras, Aubergines in peanut sauce (side) and Sweet potatoes and apple in a supposedly nice sauce or other, can't remember what it said, but everything came with exactly the same sauce. The Fish Tika, without a sauce, was just bland, so went some way to tasting much like the rest, the Madras had not so much as a hint of spice (hot spice), and very little discernible flavour in all other respects. I can't believe it. The sides appeared to have the same tasteless sauce as the Madras. Then to top it off much of it was very greasy. Oh and the Sweet Potato and Apple thing came without any Sweet Potato or Apple, instead only having regular potato, and the same bland sauce. They took that away when we moaned about it, and we declined offers to have it replaced, assuming we would simply get another bowl of the same sauce. The best thing that went in my mouth was the piece of chocolate that came with the bill at the end, but then the bill went some way to spoil that! Went here after seeing several 5 star reviews. Either we came on a bad day, or people, generally don't know what they're eating. I'm more inclined to believe the latter. The service wasn't particularly good either, grudging at best! Anyway, I tend to think of expenses such as this in terms of hours worked, rather than money spent, it costing me a total of 4 very hard worked hours. Not happy!! (I've given 2 stars rather than 1 because I didn't complain about it on the spot, me starting to think that I was being unreasonably fussy, but when we got home it turns out my partner felt exactly the same about it. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Baloo, and let me tell you, it was an absolute treat! The moment I stepped in, I was greeted by the incredibly friendly and attentive staff, making me feel welcome right away. They were more than happy to answer any questions I had about the menu and even offered some recommendations. I went with their suggestion of the chicken tikka masala, it did not disappoint! The tender and juicy chicken was cooked to perfection and smothered in a rich and creamy tomato-based sauce that had just the right amount of spice. It was served with a side of fluffy basmati rice and warm garlic naan, which was the perfect complement to the dish.

But the real star of the show was the butter chicken. Oh my goodness, it was like nothing I've ever tasted before! The chicken was marinated in a mixture of yogurt and spices, then cooked in a creamy tomato sauce that was out of this world. It was rich, decadent, and had me craving more with every bite. I'm already planning my next visit just so I can have it again!

Overall, my experience at Baloo was nothing short of exceptional. The food, the atmosphere, and the staff all came together to create an unforgettable dining experience. I absolutely L♡VE this restaurant been here 3 times and going back again for sure! Went here with my friends and family for a birthday meal.

It's rare to find such perfection on every level. Service is friendly, Professional, excellent and very efficient. I'm not the easiest of customers to please, as I am demanding for sauces, want more drinks, asking where the toilet is etc. Bottom line is I am Always asking for something or want more.. and Considering I'm not the most patient of people either. The service is attentive, flawless and suprisingly fast.

This is one of the cleanest restaurants. Even Their toilets are well replenished and very clean. Which some restaurants don't always maintain.

Here is the best part! The food is Astonishing. The best Indian I've had so far (and I am an Indian take away queen), flavours are just right, soooo tastey. The service went above and beyond call.
