I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Pomfret Arms in Northampton, and I must say, it was an excellent experience that left a lasting impression on me. This cozy pub, located at 10 Cotton End, boasts a warm and inviting atmosphere that immediately made me feel welcome upon entering.
The first thing that struck me was the pub's charming interior. The rustic decor, complete with wooden beams and vintage furnishings, creates a nostalgic ambiance that harks back to traditional English pubs. It's the kind of place where you can comfortably unwind and enjoy good company.
The staff at The Pomfret Arms were outstanding. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with friendly smiles and a genuine willingness to assist. The service throughout my visit was prompt and attentive, and the staff members were knowledgeable about the menu and the various offerings available.
Speaking of the menu, The Pomfret Arms did not disappoint in the culinary department. The selection of food and beverages was impressive, catering to a wide range of tastes and dietary preferences. Whether you're a fan of classic pub grub, seeking something more refined, or even looking for vegetarian and vegan options, this place has you covered.
The Pomfret Arms also boasts an extensive selection of beverages, including a well-curated list of local and international beers, ciders, and wines. Craft beer enthusiasts will be pleased with the range of choices available. Additionally, the pub offers a variety of non-alcoholic beverages for those who prefer alternatives.
The ambiance was enhanced by the presence of live music on the night of my visit. It created a lively and enjoyable atmosphere, perfect for a night out with friends or family. However, it's worth noting that the pub strikes a great balance between offering entertainment without being overwhelmingly loud, allowing for comfortable conversation.
In terms of pricing, I found The Pomfret Arms to be reasonably priced for the quality of food and service provided. Considering the portion sizes and the overall experience, I felt that it offered good value for money.
In conclusion, The Pomfret Arms is a hidden gem in Northampton. From the friendly staff and cozy ambiance to the delectable food and well-curated drinks, it's an excellent choice for a memorable dining and socializing experience. Whether you're a local resident or a visitor to the area, I highly recommend paying a visit to The Pomfret Arms – it...
Read moreI recently visited The Pomfret Arms with high hopes after making a reservation a week in advance. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. Despite being the only customers inside, the limited menu and poor communication left a lot to be desired.
Upon arrival, we inquired about any missing items from the menu. To our surprise, we were informed that the only unavailable options were the pulled pork burger and the children's fish and chips. We proceeded to place our orders, only to discover that the available choices were quite limited. As a vegetarian, my only option was the veggie hotdog, which was disappointing considering the lack of variety.
Although the food we received was decent, it wasn't what we had initially hoped for. The main issue was the poor communication throughout our visit. The lady, who appeared to be either the head chef or head waitress, seemed visibly annoyed with our inquiries and requests. This made us feel unwelcome and added to the overall negative experience.
When it came time for dessert, we were once again met with disappointment. The restaurant did not have the chocolate mousse we desired. Strangely, the lady seemed delighted and even exclaimed "yay" when we decided not to order anything. This reaction struck us as odd and further contributed to our dissatisfaction.
All in all, I regret to say that The Pomfret Arms did not provide the best dining experience. The limited menu options, coupled with the poor communication and the odd behaviour of the lady in charge, left us feeling unsatisfied. I hope the management takes note of these issues and takes steps to improve the overall customer experience...
Read moreWhere to start. We arrived at 1615 for a 1630 booking. Paid for starters and Mains.had a drink and sat down. Starter arrived and seemed ok. Then my wife started to choke after much back patting and and drinking we retrieved a large and very spiky piece of wood from her throat. I took it to the bar and showed it to the not very interested girl who was serving. We were then told it was a piece of fresh Rosemary used in the cooking and they walked away. OK benefit of the doubt. We then waited 1 hour for our main course. It was cheap frozen rubbish and still part frozen. And very cold. I asked to speak to the Manager and was confronted by a very rude woman claiming to be the head chef. She said I was unreasonable and told me the food was cooked and I was wrong. She refused to give me a refund. So I took the rubbish with me only to be chased by someone asking for the plate back. Please see all my pictures and make your...
