I really tried my best to avoid writing a review, but after 5 x visits on multiple Saturdays & Sundays at different times this place has sadly lost all its magic. I remember my first visit having the most delicious toasted sandwich with home baked bread yet since the change over this no longer is the case. Having visit again today at 1:30pm to be told we cannot order food and then told by another staff member they stop taking food orders at 2pm, it really put a sour taste in my mouth. This place had so much potential but if you are looking for a lunch spot, be prepared to be turned away on multiple occasions because they decide when to close or stop serving way before the times stated online. This is not the first visit and each time I’ve come earlier to see if anything would change, but the service continues to become even more disappointing and now even the coffee has declined in taste. Such a shame as when it was first operational it was absolutely phenomenal and definitely deserved...

A love hate relationship with this place. The food is usually delicious and the coffee is too, plus they’re very baby and kid friendly. However the wait for your drinks (30/40mins, once we waited nearly an hour for just the coffee), and the food often longer. The usual chef there is fantastic but there never seems to be enough staff to provide the right amount of service. We went today (Sunday) and had to send two dishes back and ask for a refund as the girl working in the kitchen wasn’t allowed to do the cooking yet there was no other chef (odd!) so she served me half a piece of toast, uncooked chorizo and a massive bowl of luke warm butter beans. Not the usual standard at all. The young girls serving need to brush up on their customer service skills when dealing with a customers concerns also. Sad to say we had a very disappointing experience and my husband refuses to return after two bad experiences which is...

Very rare for me to leave a bad review but feel compelled to after having a second consecutive bad experience at Base.

Moved to area last July and came here a few times in following months, always enjoying the food and service. Then went just before Xmas and had an awful experience, waiting 45 minutes for 2 breakfast focaccias which were then borderline inedible due to the amount of tomato ketchup on them.

Today our order was messed up with only 1 of the 2 things we ordered being prepared, and we’d already waited 25 minutes for that (with a 4 month old getting grouchy in buggy).

And in general their staff don’t appear to be as well trained as they once were (we’ve had to go up and ask for food menus and tap water on last 2 visits).

All in all very disappointing as this had been one of our “go to” cafe spots, but we won’t be going...

What a lovely find and an amazing coffee. Not only do the sell coffee and tea as you would expect but have a comprehensive menu of smoothies, iced teas, beers, wines and and amazing breakfast / lunch menu. I had a chat with the owner Robbie who said that they have of ideas to keep the venue fresh exciting such as pop a pop up kitchen for evening service with their good friend from LVL UP and other events as such live music which is actually happening on the 15th Sep! This is definitely a place to visit for great breakfast / lunch / brunch and seriously tasty coffee. They also have lots of seating inside and out so plenty of capacity. Great vibe and very vey happy to recommend. NOTE: This is a card only venue so no cash

We all had such wonderful day celebrating our daughters naming day at Base coffee, it was perfect. Great venue with a lovely garden area and plenty of parking for all of our guests. Robbie from start to finish was very helpful with all the details prior to the day and was happy for me to decorate the venue how I wanted it. The afternoon tea was delicious, the brownies in particular were so good, as was everything else. All our guests said how nice the food was and the coffee too. Will definitely be coming back. Thank you both again!

Drove up to Aylesbury from London to visit this lovely, family-run cafe and farmers market. The location is great, off the main road but you feel like you’re in the middle of the country. The restaurant itself is very tastefully decorated and feels very homey. The service was incredible, all of the staff were very friendly and were able to talk about the menu and make recommendations. Our food and drinks arrived quickly and tasted divine! Overall I would recommend Base Coffee + Kitchen to everyone.
