Bonnie’s — Restaurant in England

After bothying and doing a 28 mile walk with a heavy pack the previous day, walking to Bardon Mill to find the cafe and village shop closed for the day I did some research, caught the bus to Haltwhistle and was not disappointed. I went for Bonnie's Belter breakfast and Earl Grey and absolutely loved it. Was a beast of a breakfast with everything you could ever want, mustard, brown sauce and a good generous pot of tea. We were passing through and looking for a good place to eat at reasonable prices. Bonnies is an unassuming small family run cafe. The food is made on site and the service is excellent. Don’t be fooled by appearances, they prepare a fantastic but small menu that is tasty and original. I ordered the ham potato and leek pie, which was excellent and they served the best coffee I have had in ages. All for an excellent and competitive price. Lovely little place with very friendly staff. Plenty of cafe food options available, and they cater for preferences and allergies too. The cake looked amazing and there was local produce available to buy too. After a veggie breakfast and beans on toast between the two of us, and with a massive walk ahead of us we had to turn down the cake - we could have had cake take away, but it wouldn't have been fair on the cake.
