Buon Appetito — Restaurant in England

Seven of us dined here today for a late lunch/early dinner and some of us had a disappointing experience and others said it was fine.

Mixed order of pizza, pasta and steak.

Quattro stagioni pizza (four seasons) was not a clearly defined four quarters pizza it was all the same ingredients all over.

When asked how I wanted the steak order I said “really rare” and it was at least medium/well and definitely over cooked for the order. I sent it back for a new one the next one was under cooked (blue) the result of this was I left the middle bit of the steak as it was cold to the touch. Obviously not brought to room temperature before cooking.

Half way through eating the 2nd steak the waitress came over and said “chef said next time ask for blue” as if I had asked for the order incorrect, however, I didn’t want a blue steak I wanted rare. This for me was just bad customer service.

My order was clear and two steaks delivered and neither were correct. If you can’t cook the steak properly to order then don’t have it on the menu. The meat itself was a quality piece of meat but the vegetables were sad looking. Wish I had taken a picture.

The mare pasta was lovely according to my children and the cannelloni a little lacking according to my dad. My mums amatriciana pasta was delicious.

The cheesecake is not made on site but was definitely the best thing I ate here. My son enjoyed his profiteroles but they were covered in cream which was a bit much.

Overall I wouldn’t go back and no atmosphere but...

Having phoned to see if we needed a reservation and being told no, we then had to wait twenty minutes for a table as a result of not having reserved a table. The tables are very close together and was difficult getting to the table. Not having a separate children’s area resulted in children dashing around. Struggling to not trip over a dashing child, I spilt most of my drink. We then waited twenty minutes to order food and this starter then took forty minutes to reach the table. A table that arrived after us, received their food before we did. When our food did arrive, my partners bruschetta had a side salad that had no dressing and looked wilted. Our mains took almost half an hour, my partners lasagne was clearly microwaved and had no salad or garlic bread. My steak was very over cooked and I was not initially given a steak knife. We waited a long while for the bill and when it came we were surprised how expensive it was. The table next to us were discussing their outrage over their bill. Sad to write this review as the decor was beautiful and the place clean. Service however was very slow and the food was not good...

Had an awful experience there. Certainly wouldn't recommend it. Asked for a shandy so they brought a little bottle of moretti and a half pint glass of lemonade, they must of expected me to have a mouthful of each and mix it in my mouth, that was nearly £7, had to wait 20 minutes to even order food then waited about the same to get the starter, which I ordered the mushrooms with sauce, when that came there was a lump of soggy bread in the bowl and a few mushrooms, then we waited a further 40 minutes for our main which I got a fillet steak that I'm pretty sure wasn't fillet as it had like a horrible liver taste and then for the owner to say maybe it was me and not the food, waste of £73 pound and certainly...
