Jordan's Courtyard is just up the road, as is Monks Yard, which are both brilliant, although not cheap.
But when some BK burgers are over £8 each at this place, it seems amazing value in comparison.
Unfortunately, both JC and MY were shut by the time we passed and BK was the only choice. Greggs was shut, so a greasy sausage roll was out of the question.
BK was really dirty.
Not a single table had been cleaned and it wasn't busy. Seats were covered in crumbs and discarded chips, there were wrappers on the floor, the bins were overflowing.
The toilets were dirty and smelly with no soap. How do the staff clean their hands if there is no soap??
Perhaps that why, many hours later, I spent two hours with my son while he was throwing up in the middle of the night.
The food isn't good value. Service wasn't quick. The food was awful. The buns were sweet and soggy. Onion rings had no flavour. Nothing looked like the picture and seemed a lot smaller than promised. The milkshake machine was broken. Nearly every drink available was diet. Every burger appeared thrown together with about as much care as a 1970s Austin Allegro on Friday at 4.30pm. The staff looked bored and uninterested.
Surely we can do better than this in the UK?
How anyone gives this place more than 2 stars is beyond me.
Probably the worst place I've...
Read moreStaff and ordering system fine inside, but drive-thru shut and cordoned off, (maybe staff shortages..?) also may be why the parking area was very packed and direction of travel around this whole smallish complex is very confusing, hence cars coming around from both directions. Food ok although some items not available. Seating ok tho again (short staffed)not cleared for next customer very quickly. Biggest big no no no was toilets in the complex. Absolutely unacceptable standard of, can't even call it "cleanliness". The whole toilet area, toilets themselves, sinks and even tops of hand driers were absolutely filthy with long term grime and filth, not just a bit of dust. The ladies stank of stale urine and I dread to think what the gents was like!Couldn't even wash our hands as pee on them couldn't possibly have been worse than trying to use the sinks and driers and if we hadn't travelled a long way,we wouldn't even have used the facilities at all! I'm not super fussy at all, but a bush would probably have been more hygienic, just less private! Definitely not acceptable even allowing for staff shortages, especially in a food outlet! One to avoid and disappointed is an...

Although Burger King has never reached the global dominance and almost universal brand recognition of its main rival McDonalds, the fast food franchise chain is still a staple in many of the towns, cities and service stations across the country. In fact, the UK alone is home to around 500 Burger King locations, compared to around 800 for KFC and an impressive 1,200 for McDonalds. Known for the Whopper Sandwich, the Quarter Pound King and the Double Whopper as well as excellent fries and a choice of sides, the burger restaurant serves thousands of customers every day.
